The character Singleton has his scars all over his face move between shots. At the start and end the main scars on his lip, cheek and neck are on his right but about minute 14 they are on his left.
The scar on Singleton's face switches sides. When we first see him, the scar is on the right side of his face (our left). When he gets into close-up, the scar switches sides.
In Mosiah's last scene, when Captain Charles Vane reveals himself he lights a cigar with (what sounds like) a Zippo windproof lighter. According to Wikipedia "The first lighters were converted flintlock pistols that used gunpowder. One of the first lighters was invented by the German chemist named Johann Wolfgang Döbereiner in 1823 and was often called Döbereiner's lamp. This lighter worked by passing flammable hydrogen gas, produced within the lighter by a chemical reaction, over a platinum metal catalyst which in turn caused it to ignite and give off a great amount of heat and light." Vane clearly closed a metal lid with a spring and put whatever it was to his side. IF it was a Zippo lighter, the first Zippo was not produced until 1933.
