Totally exciting.

Gates is now fully in the employ the unknown puppet master, Steve continues to dig away, chasing Gates, having had a bit of a wobble about his role in anti corruption.

This series just gets better and better, it's exciting, it's dramatic, incredibly well paced, but the characters are incredibly well drawn, their actions seem to matter somehow. I am engrossed in Gates's story.

Finally that little creep gets a slap from Steve, best moment of the show so far.

That ending is so dramatic, I was literally sat on the edge of my seat, terrific. 9/10.

Building momentum towards the final episode

Gates struggles to keep the wolves at bay from several angles.

This is a strong episode with good character moments.

Gates' situation goes from bad to worse in a series difficult encounters and high pressure situations. These scenes are done in an intriguing way as we come to expect.

We also have good moments of politics that plagued the decision making within the command structure of the police force. Career driven bosses are a blight on public organisations and this is captured well by the character Hilton.

Along side the above we find out a bit more about certain characters. It doesn't make them any more likeable but it's much needed background information that helps put certain behaviours in context.

Everything leads to another cliffhanger moment where you want to find out what happens next.

All performances are strong as ever, but virtually every character is either humourless or unlikeable, except for Hastings.

This series is really starting to hit its straps. I already forgot what happened in this one though.

Warning: Spoilers
Arnott might have had a wobble but he is back and keen to hunt down Gates. Arnott and Hastings interview his team. Cottan wobbles.

Kate meanwhile tries to gain Gate's trust but she is rumbled by Morton.

Kate has to show her hand as she senses Arnott is in danger.

The gang handling Gates think Arnott needs to be dealt with. Gates lures him to a warehouse and leaves Arnott to the mercy of the gang.

By now Gates is not only knee deep in trouble but there is no way out for him..

The gang are a nasty bunch even the foot soldiers. I was happy that the tearaway on the bike got a slap, especially the way he and his mates treated the man with Down's Syndrome.
