Surprisingly good Warning: Spoilers
Against what someone could expect, this animated CGI short, despite having a cast of adorable characters playing the main roles, it is not a kid's films, but it is neither a black comedy, being instead (For most part, at least) a serious action war film.

While at first the cute appearance of the two main characters seem to be a distracting factor, the story of this short, despite being too simple it is interesting enough to make this worth-watching, being well told and surprisingly effective. Also, the good quality of the animation (With expressive and appealing designs) makes this a particularly enjoyable watch.

Fortunately, here the juxtaposition of cutesy with serious or violent situations isn't something gratuitous or forced, serving merely as an stylistic choice, working very well in that aspect.

Much better than expected

With that premise and especially that ridiculous title, one would expect this to be some over-the-top satirical comedy, but in fact, it turns out to be a very serious war film. You can just replace the animals in this with humans, and you'll get yourself a typical Hollywood product.

I guess the reason the creators chose to feature animals instead of humans was to make the film less violent and controversial so that viewers can suspend their political views and just see the film for what it is. And it works splendidly. With the fluffy rabbits in place of real soldiers, the film becomes much more memorable and interesting than it would normally have.

I also appreciate that they try to give the main characters some connections and progress within the short runtime, though those are no more than cliché Hollywood stuff.

The animation is good for an independent product. The character models are great with very smooth movement, and the explosion effects are OK. The only real problem I see is that sometimes the characters don't blend well with the backgrounds.

In conclusion, this short is one surprisingly fun and solid film that action lovers should really see for themselves.

Very unique animated short
Finbar-112 January 2014
Ask me how much I loved the concept of a (relatively) serious animated war story about a bunny snipers team in the middle east that includes head shots to camel terrorists. Just that description alone should entice you to see it.

The serious approach the producers took to a story line about hardened war vets (at least Packy the spotter and leader) compared to the not-so-serious premise of 2 bunnies as the main characters. They certainly play with this juxtaposition; the team is scoping out the village to weigh their options and you see regular fluffy tails twitching, they walk through the dangerous village with those floppy feet, and a cute bunny barking orders like Sgt Rock (for the younger reader, an old comic book WWII GI).

The only criticism is that Botasky's (the sniper) dialogue are a bit weak, he should have been as hardened and confident as Packy) but you can certainly forgive that slight issue as it added to the juxtaposition.

I only wish this was longer, maybe even a regular, on-going series.

The Hare Locker Warning: Spoilers
"Cute and Dangerous" could be the title for this 22-minute (20 without credits) animated short film as well. "Cat **** One" (really IMDb? I have to censor the title here???) is from the year 2010, so already over 5 years old and it is the only filmmaking effort by Kazuya Sasahara, who otherwise works in video games. The name already tells you that this is a Japanese production, but don't worry, there is an English dubbed version out there too. The title is a bit misleading as not only there is no sequel and there may never be, even if Sasahara had the intention to make one, but this is also not about cats, but about bunnies. We follow two rabbits and witness how they take down an enemy stronghold full of camel terrorists. The action is sometimes bloody and graphic, so this is not for young audiences, generally more suited for adults as they will also understand the military slang way better. I personally felt it could have needed some better character development or just better writing in general or should have run for 15 minutes max only. But the animation is good enough to make up for the really generic story line. The only non-generic aspect here is that we watch rabbits and camels in the middle of it all. I recommend this little piece. Thumbs up.

A fine piece of animated war sequence
jarvil8 October 2013
This is a short animation that details the events of an enemy encounter in a war setting. The seriousness of the situation in which the two protagonist's find themselves is juxtaposed with the delightful rendering of the characters themselves. There is drama and great action with a heightened intensity as events unfold in real time. Actions speak louder than words in this encounter and it's clear that military experience was drawn upon to make the characters and events as authentic as possible. It's an impressive piece of animation which is in stark contrast to many others due to the complete absence of any glorification of battle. The way in which these characters operate reflects the type of highly skilled people that work in this arena. It is a must watch for anyone who wonders how these soldiers work in a field they will never... ever talk about.

Short Entertainer............. But Lacks Punch A Little Bit

Warning: Spoilers
The director Kazuya Sasahara made a story of 'sniper' and 'spotter' in conjunction who need to rescue the hostages.

The Character Packy(A.K.A 'Cat S*** One') is the 'shooter' and Botasky is the 'spotter'. Here they start their rescue mission and they soon spot a hostage being shot and now they ask for backup but it doesn't goes well. Now the complete rescue operation needed to be done single handedly by Packy and Botasky. Can they succeed in this operation? Then How?

Here the most comical thing is that they have chosen bunnies as 'sniper' and 'spotter' and the terrorists are camels! To my astonishment. This is where some viewers may not get the real feel they need in this type of intense incidents.

But the applaudable factor is the animation and visual effects are just amazing and enjoyable throughout and the action sequences are good. But the presence of human animated characters instead of animals would have been much better according to my view.

The dialogues are okay and the story is fine filled with good fights. The slow motion sequences are really a treat to watch. But we may get laughs due to the camel faces in some scenes.

Finally a good movie to watch. Enjoyable one.

Better than G-FORCE

Okay i am so flustered and confused on why this existing and also why this have not made any continuation to the franchise, i also don't understand how the characters supposedly personified certain nationality (i understand the camel one but not the bunnies) maybe it's a certain japanese jokes or something but its palpable and i got distracted to even enjoyed this short more, all and all its a fun short that i have no high hopes for because of the overall animation quality but then it just surprised me thoroughly with its violent content that I'd definitely enjoyed.

Warning: Spoilers
First off, i love rabbits! That is what got me to check this out, then upon starting it up, to see how well portrayed they were kept me watching. The cgi work is fantastic! Details like the shadow of Packy showing behind the wall he is crouched next to, the human like expressions on the buns and the camels faces turning them into humans, but not enough to make you sorry when Packy and Bota blow them away, which is also graphic. This is not meant for children, these two boys are meant to save 3 captives, only to see one seriously wounded and beaten and another shot at the outset which leads Packy to decide they can't wait for back-up and will act by themselves. So Botasky will be sniping from the ridge and he will go in to free the prisoners. They are doing quite well until the enemy picks up the light off Bota's scope and sends a couple of rockets his way, forcing him off the ridge. Packy in the meantime has both prisoners, Bota gets to him and the prisoners, much more street fighting, Botasky must leave with the 2 prisoners and Packy must stay to hold off the enemy so they can get to the pick-up point. Packy must buy time, he's warned more enemy is arriving before he can be evacuated, he told Bota not to come back, what's going to happen? Will reinforcements get there in time? See if our hero bunnies survive or not. I can deal with the graphic shots etc. partially because it's b/w movie and the head shots are from fairly long distances so it isn't focused on for long. So it's not shown as being gory, also there is no foul language unless the camel/enemy is using some, so i am not put off in that manner, just gotta say i like this for all the aspects i see in it. Enjoy hai!

Peeing myself at the cheesy brilliance of this tongue in cheek toon.

Warning: Spoilers
SPOILERS INCOMING!!!

(the feature is only 22 minutes long, so to say anything about it will give something away).

Two mercenary rabbits are sent to pull out a couple of hostages. Yes, you read that correctly... Rabbits. The hostages are being held captive by the enemy (played in this case by camels, so appropriate for Taliban style desert scum-bags I guess). The whole thing is these two rabb's getting in, grabbing the captives back, and getting to the evac point. That's it. It's short, animated, and a great little chuckle for war fans who are sick of Matt Damon and Gyllenhaal splattering their mugs all over everything with automatic fire in it. FYI: "Why rabbits as the American sounding mercs"? I hear you ask. Simples!... The Japanese word for Rabbit is Usagi (U.S.A. G.I.).

Enjoy.

inspired job

Surprising, good. For many reasons, especially for the fine animation and for the contrast between the easy war comedy than you expect and a well crafted animation, reminding war in other context than patriotic propaganda or video games. Hares and camels . And inspired remind of fundamental virtues proofed in the middle of context. So, a special short serie. Beautiful and well used for a powerful message.
