Thomas Elphinstone Hambledon is a spy character in novels written by Manning Coles. This is the reference for Thomas Elpinstone Hambledurgers and Manning Coleslaw on the specials board in Bob's Burgers. Hambledon, like Archer in this episode, was an amnesiac that suffered a long-term fugue state.
Hambledon was a MI5 agent during World War I and at the end of the war was lost at sea off the coast of Germany and presumed dead by his government. While suffering from amnesia and in a fugue state (like Archer) in Germany he would up joining the fledgling Nazi party, over the years working his way up to being chosen by Hitler to be the Chief of Police for the SS. He recovers his memory on the night of the Reichstag fire, which was the burning of the German parliament building, the blame for which was place on Germany's communist party and led to the Nazi party taking control of the German government. After regaining his memory Hambledon uses his new "identity" to help his original one finally fulfill his mission, just like Archer does upon regaining his memory.
