Good Story, Bad Resolution
Alex_Hodgkinson21 July 2014
This episode had lots of potential. Gobber, a Viking who has dedicated his life to crafting weapons for bringing down mighty dragons, now has a rather pointless job. Due to this, Hiccup tries to create many new jobs for Gobber; sadly, none of these suit Gobber's abilities.

This episode had the chance to give Gobber a whole new, important job, but failed. Many jobs Hiccup created for him would have been perfect for his character and the show. Sadly, the resolution and the job Gobber gets is rather disappointing. Other than that, the episode lives up to the expectations that the first episode set. Another short, simple story to bridge the gap between the films.

The 'villain' from the first episode makes another short appearance in this episode. I have a feeling that he'll become a more essential character in future episodes as the spiteful man who dislikes the dragons. I, for one, am hoping for an episode with Hiccup exploring with Toothless and finding a new dragon. I see no reason for it not to happen, but I have a feeling that it won't and the series will be entirely based on Berk.

Not as good as the first episode, but still good, bar the resolution.
