A Little Masterpiece
tsetsen9619 September 2016
This film is based on a short story by Soviet popular children's writer Vitaly Bianki. It's a touchable cartoon about surviving of a little field mouse. While watching the film (or rather reading the book), you can learn some new about life of mice (personally, i didn't know that they make nests). The interesting fact about the film (especially for non-Russian speakers) is that there's no words in it, only sounds of nature and music. Music... The score by Vladimir Martynov is terrific and, in my opinion, sounds unusual for composer from the USSR. Well, it's a beautiful and, what is important, instructive story, which inculcates love of nature to children. The only small minus for me is that there are some moments in the book that are missed in the film.

Great short story

This is a great short story of little mouse, short, but so touching... Empathizing, with moments of fear, tears on my eyes till the soothing happy end. There is no words, no dubbing is needed, no spoken language - only the music and sounds of the nature. It can tell you a lot about the wildlife, about the nature, about the wonderful adventures, about the young lovely mouse who is so cute and small... And about the people, how different they could be - from stupid and cruel to loving and caring. Keep your heart open and you'll know what is it - a real feeling. Ending music theme is charming. It is pretty unusual for a Soviet animation, but it is really heart-touching. Ending is almost nice. Strongly recommended - for all who can feel, for all who likes nature and beautiful small furry creatures.
