It's ridiculous but kinda sweet at the same time

This show really appeals to the whole ideal that we've all done some cringey stuff in our early teens and want to forget it ever happened. This series goes over that, but also how some kids develop a whole make believe world to escape trauma and harsh realities.

I first started watching this show cause I thought the whole reminiscing of past cringe offenses really funny. But I stayed for the very sweet and wholesome storyline.

It's not for everyone but it's clean, goofy and sweet fun. Definitely worth watching through once. I laughed and my eyes watered a little bit in some moments.

Cute little series

This is clearly one of the most non-offensive series I ever watched. I can't say many bad, but also not many good things about it. A thing you can criticize is, that a lot of the humor in this series is based on cringe or embarrassing situations, but I think this is a matter of taste. The rest of the series can be summarized with "cute little girls doing cute things", what is definitely too sweet and gives me diabetes.

Cringy But Good

The first time I watched this I stopped after ep 6 because it was Cringy. Then I picked it up after few months Due to the positive reviews by other viewers and I realised it was actually a really good Anime .The Romance is good , the Comedy is good and it can actually make you feel the embarrassment the characters are Feeling 😂😂..... Overall It's a show you'll like for sure.

I am writing this after only watching season 1, just a disclaimer. Anyways, I found this anime very heartwarming and it made me care about the characters very very much! The cute interactions that Rikka has with Yuta, and the reason why she is Chunibyo (not gonna spoil that) felt organic and real! I also love it for it's gorgeous animation (thank you KyoAni!) And we'll timed humor that made my days better whenever I would watch it. Honestly, I'd say this is a must watch for fans of slice of life and romance anime!

Greatest Anime Ever Made

This anime is amazing down to the characters, plot and romance. I love it so much. It has everything you would want from a great anime. Why is it so amazing? Lets look at the story.

Yuuta is a boy who had a certain condition called "Eighth Grade Syndrome". Who he believed he was someone called "Dark Flame Master", someone who had magical flame powers. However, when he moved to high school, he outgrew the eighth grade syndrome and cringes about his past self frequently. However, he is happy to have a fresh start for high school. However, he then meets a girl named Rikka, who has this syndrome. Together the two of them basically form a bond, meet new people and just do high school romantic comedy antics. And its so awesome, i definitely recommend this show to pretty much anyone

It's actually a pretty good anime. It has this 'unique' concept of story and the characters are unique too. I don't know how to describe this anime properly, but i think it's something new that worth watching 'till the end.

I had an absolute blast watching this show from the beginning, but the more towards the end I got the less I enjoyed it. Don't get me wrong, I really liked the whole thing, but it gets slightly worse as it goes on. I didn't really care for the ending either. However! If you feel or felt the same way after finishing it, I have good news. The movie has a much more satisfying ending. If it weren't for the movie, I probably would have given this show a 7.

(8/10) A funny anime that can be confusing at times and cringy at others but was a really good show overall. This show had a great character line up with an adorable romance. One of the less sad romance anime while still having some dramatic plot points.

Love Chunibyo and other delusions is an anime which has the characters suffering from 'Chunibyo' or 'the eighth grader syndrome'. The character Rikka Takanashi suffering from 'chunibyo' believes that she has some superpower abilities and always lives in her own delusional world. So much that she almost always uses the technical words, which would have some scientific or superpower-like meanings. She doesn't talk normally at all. Her friend Yuta Togashi too had an experience of living in a delusional world. However, he finds his own Chunibyo past embarrassing and tries hard to forget it. It is then revealed that the origin of Rikka's delusions come from her father's sudden death. It is her life goal to reach "Ethereal Horizon" with the help of her "abilities" so that she could reunite with her father.

I mostly say I like this anime whenever I am asked. However, more than liking it, I tend to 'agree' with it. Just because your dreams or goals are unrealistic or not practical, doesn't mean that you shouldn't pursue them. Life is unpredictable. If you keep chasing your impossible dreams, you never know when life suddenly offers you a path, making it possible to achieve it. This season of the anime ends beautifully.

The first few episodes are dragged. We don't see much progress in the initial episodes. However, it's not unbearable when you have only 12-episode season. I also didn't feel like the anime should have season 2. It looked like a complete series at the end of the first season itself.

Anyway, try this anime. If you are not a beginner, you would surely wish to act like Rikka Takanashi all the time.

So, where do I begin. Lets start with the reason for my rating. Though not very stellar in the first 2 or 3 episodes, episode 7 is about where it gets good. The synopsis is your typical romance anime, with a weird twist. Remember when you were in first grade and thought you were some powerful being or something like that. Well that is what 14 year old Rikka Takanashi has, they call it Chunibyo. The other main had this condition too, 14 year old Yuuta Togagochi, but he outgrew it and deems it as "embarrassing" So, then the embarrassing part for me, the age rating and parents guide.

SEASON 1: Age rating: 12 or 13+

I'm actually 11 and watched this with my friend, so if your particular mature, go ahead, but be warned. The first season contains mild innuendo's, and a lot of romance. I'm pretty sure there are some mild lesbian matters, though not very much. Mild violence toward the main girl character. Mild swearing.

SEASON 2: Age rating 13 or 14+

Sooooooo, what exactly happened to gain an extra year? Welp, there is a lot more *ahem* "ACTION" between the two mains. MAJOR SPOILER!!! The main guy has a dream about, (This is so embarrassing) about his girlfriend main in bed naked with him, presumably about to get it on in his dream (*Internal struggle*) this may be upsetting to younger viewers, especially because they are 14. SPOILER!!!:one of the supporting characters has a dispute that leads to meeting a girl online who is DEFINITELY... interested in HER. Same mild violence toward the main girl. SPOILER!!! There is a love triangle between mains, but seeing as the seasons name is "Heart Throb," it makes sense. There is EXTREME blushing, if that's a problem for you. Still same mild swearing.

Conclusion: So....... WATCH THIS ANIME IMMEDIATELY IF YOU HAVEN'T. This is a very sweet anime. It is soooooo good, MAJOR SPOILER!!!!!: I find the pairing of Yuuta and Rikka sooo adorable, they work so well off each other! Each season is 12, 22 minute episodes, adding up to 24 episodes, with 1 filler episode per season.The only problem is, even after the second season, I WANT MORE!!! I wanna see some like 10 years later stuff to wrap up in a nice little bow, though the ending was sweet enough. I could talk about this anime for a looooooong time, but i'm limited to 1,000 words!!! So there is so much I haven't even touched. All I can say is...

...WATCH IIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Growing up is a difficult process, and there are always times when one feels embarrassed and regrets a past decision. It is possible to wonder what exactly signifies the entry into adulthood-living on one's own or perhaps adhering to social norms and conforming to them. So, are those who stick to their childhood passions not fully matured adults? Maybe. Is there a problem with that, though? It's challenging to determine.

In Japanese online culture, there is an odd phrase that is utilized. "Chuunibyou" (literally, "Eighth-Grade Syndrome") describes mature people who have a ridiculous self-made identity. When you were a kid, can you recall ever being attracted to a TV character and pretending to be able to do superhuman things in real life? A chuunibyou is an adolescent or adult version of that, but to the point where their entire way of life is defined by their imaginary character. It would be embarrassing to act in this manner in public, and getting over such a past would be even more embarrassing.

An emotive soundtrack is a necessary component of every good love story, and Chuu2-Byo's music does not let you down. Both the serious and humorous moments have appropriate music, and everytime a certain piano piece is played, it never fails to get you a little teary-eyed. Not to mention the amusing and unforgettable opening and closing scenes, these songs will probably stay stuck in your mind for a long time. Having said that, it's always a little funny in the second part of the show when the lively theme music comes on right after a serious scene. It accurately captures the difference between the two parts.

Cute and original, but repetitious

The first few episodes of this make an interesting watch as they establish the basic plot, build the individual characters and begin establishing relationships. This lasts through most of the first season, but by the second season it becomes a repetitious one-joke story line. One waits for some kind of climax or resolution that simply never arrives... with the end episode as flat as the beginning of the season.

Parents should note that there may be a little too much "Dark Lord" magic (even if imaginary) for their comfort zone. Why they chose to make nearly all of the characters dark/evil magic oriented is a puzzling factor of the series. One could have wished for a little more diversity among the "players" (only Mori Summer has any diversity and her character is seldom used). The two-dimensional nature of the characters remains two-dimensional throughout the series, with little growth or change. The characters claim to learn lessons about life all the way through, but their actions prove they really don't.

Just about when the viewer is expecting a major change in the plot line, that change is negated and the characters remain exactly the same as before. This is one of the more disappointing aspects of a series that could have been much better with a bit more story and character development. The foundation was there, but someone forgot to finish building the house.

This series had potential, but never truly achieved it. The actions of the characters are often over-arching. Absurdity is fine in an anime, but the same absurdity repeated over and over can become stale. I wanted to give this a higher rating, but in the end this struck me as a "mediocre" anime that is cute and at times endearing, but more often simply the same story told episode after episode.

Had the relationships of the characters been more strongly established or had they taken the story line further and in more progressive directions, this may have been an exceptionally good series. But as it stands, it ends with a weak plot, non-developing characters, and a same-old, lack-luster final episode.

Definitely one of the greatest animes of all time, if not the greatest

There are not many animes made like Chuunibyou anymore. It's modern, but it's still a classic love story that is perfect for any age. The storyline is pure and heartfelt, and it resonates even after you are done watching it. Chuunibyou is a series that tells the harsh story of growing up. Then, all of a sudden, it turns into a wonderfully told romance story, but in a unique way. The character Rikka shows us just how important it is for us to stay weird and different, because to be normal is just an illusion. Along with Yuuta and the other characters, they all come to realize this and learn to adapt by just being themselves. This anime is truly refreshing!

Very deep. Astounding in its animation and portrayal of teens dealing with loss, change, love, and growing up. The English dub is excellent!

The first time my daughter found this on Netflix, I rolled my eyes. "Not another teen romance," I whined. 24 episodes later, I was blown away. I was hooked. 'Love Chunibyo and Other Delusions' is NOT your stereotypical teen angst romcom. It deals with complex psychological issues, and some very deep subject matter. It is animated more beautifully than anything you can imagine. The characters are relatable, the premise is believable, and I'll be honest, speaking as the son and husband of psychologists, this show is INCREDIBLY smart in dealing with young teens and the pains and pressures that follow the transition into high school and young adulthood. Peer pressure. Love. Loss of family members. Sexual awakening. Trying to fit in while being embarrassed about your past. It is in turns moving, hilarious, frustrating, exhilarating, and romantic. There are times when the supporting characters will make you angry with their annoying personalities. The two protagonists, Yuta and Rikka, are trying to navigate first feelings of love while dealing with their "Chunibyo" (Japanese for 'Eighth Grader Syndrome') Which they use to escape the mundane life of high school and reconnect with their imaginative childhood. Yuta is embarrassd by it, but Rikka uses her Chunibyo to help her deal with the intense pain of losing her father at a young age. Her fantasy world is an escape from reality. One very welcome stabilizing character in this show is Rikka's older sister Toka. A very strong supporting female character who "battles" Rikka's imaginary character with a soup ladel. Sound ridiculous? Trust me. Watch it and you'll be amazed. After the final movie "Take On Me" aired, we were left wanting more. You will not be disappointed.

Unique story

I really like the story and to be honest, the person is just as rich as the story is like this. I often think about imaginations that other people can't understand. In my brain, imagination is alive today. The animation is very good, really like the aesthetic. The character development here is also very touched and very dramatic. The intro and outro are good, but I am a bit confused with the music, I don't really like the music. Usually, if the music is good, I'm not Japanese, I will get carried away with the music but this time it's not at all, when I hear the music, I feel dizzy hehehe. But on average, everything is good, I really like this anime, thank you for the studio and creator, for this anime, I really recommend watching it during a rich pandemic.

Cute series with a satisfying end.

Loved the first season of the series. It had some really good moments and it may seem cringy at first but by the end of the season, it does feel like it conveys a message. One of those series which will have an effect on me for a long time. The second season, on the contrary, was nothing compared to the first one. They made it repetitive and boring. I even skipped complete episodes because they were off the main story. The season didn't have a very good end either. They finally concluded the whole story with a movie which to some extent compensated the damages caused by season two. The ending was nice and felt satisfying.

I watched episode one before quitting. The animation is pretty good, and the only positive I have. This episode was full of extremely cringeworthy moments and some memes. There is nothing that makes me want to keep watching this show, so I'm not going to.

I know I gave it 10/10 but hear me our This series not like other anime you watch. The concept is based on Reality. "Chunibyo" or 8th grade syndrome is real thing. They took this and fantasised it in their own way. It is not cringey. This series has Comedy, Drama, Romance, Action in a well mannered way... This show combines all these genres together to create one genre. So its definitely a good watch

Simple yet sweet series

This anime is pretty much one of my favorite animes. Just so heartwarming and silly. The animation and art is really damn good for its year, great voice acting and original yet not mind-blowing characters. If you want to watch something light hearted then this series is for you. Would recommend it for kids above the age of 12 as it contains a few very light dirty jokes here and there.
