Needless to say that I hadn't heard about this 2012 Vietnamese romantic comedy titled "Cuoi Ngay Keo Lo" (aka "Love Puzzle") before now in 2022 as I sat down to watch it. So I had no idea what I was in for, aside from it being a romantic comedy. And thus, writer and director Charlie Nguyen had all the opportunities in the world to entertain me.
And I will say that "Cuoi Ngay Keo Lo" is actually in the better end of the romantic comedies, as the storyline actually transcends the generic blueprint that many romantic comedies tend to follow. Sure, there were similarities to the run-of-the-mill romantic comedies, but "Cuoi Ngay Keo Lo" actually had more to offer than just your average girl-hates-boy-but-falls-in-love-anyway recipe.
It was a combination of a well-written story, interesting characters and good acting performances that made "Cuoi Ngay Keo Lo" such an enjoyable and entertaining movie. And if you enjoy romantic comedies, then you certainly should sit down to watch this 2012 movie, if you have the chance, regardless of you having a liking for Asian cinema or not.
The acting performances in "Cuoi Ngay Keo Lo" were good, and they had a good cast ensemble put together for the movie. The movie is starring Johnny Nguyen and Ngoc Diep in the leading roles. They had good chemistry and worked nicely together on the screen. The movie is also starring Thai Hoa, and it is always a nice treat to see the work of this performer.
All in all, then "Cuoi Ngay Keo Lo" is a good and heartfelt story, and it is well-worth watching.
