Cheapo Taiwanese actioner
Leofwine_draca19 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
An extremely cheap Taiwanese action thriller that singularly manages to waste the talents of the assembled guest stars. It starts off interminably with a brother sister partnership arriving on the Chinese mainland and looking for work. Dull action and poor comedy follow, enlivened only by the extended cameo role for Gordon Liu playing a kung fu master chef (!). Eventually a cop (Cynthia Khan, essentially her IN THE LINE OF DUTY character) and an Interpol agent (the welcome Yukari Oshima) show up to bring down crime boss Billy Chow, and the two plots merge into one. This one is cheaper than ever, amateurish throughout in fact, and the only time it comes alive is during the extended fight climax in which it takes all of our heroes' skills to tackle badass Billy.
