An engrossing first episode.

Warsaw 1937, High Society continues for many, but over in Germany Nazism is definitely on the rise, this tells the story of Jean Francois Mercier, a French spy undercover in The Polish Embassy who's concerned by events over the border.

It's an often untold story of this harrowing time in history, two years later Poland would be invaded by both Germany and The Soviets following a pact, but the events leading up to September 1939 are baffling.

I enjoyed the time very much, so have said it's slow, perhaps it is, but purposely so.

Tennant is excellent, production values are terrific, it's visually very appealing. Some very uncomfortable scenes, the one where a semi naked young Officer is lambasted by his superior is chilling. The Gestapo also look particularly foreboding.

Engrossing. 8/10
