Very Tight and Real

I like to watch the first episode of a series, to get a flavor for what it's about. I thought this was quite good. We have the most despicable type of killer...one who fancies himself a family man who goes out at night and murders young women. Enter a tough but very attractive police detective who specializes in this kind of stuff. She is quite formidable and seems to get what she wants, including men she is attracted to. But she is also a workaholic. My question is, "How can this be dragged through a whole season." Him, leaving his wife and daughters behind, disrobing, and attacking more women. She, incredibly unlikeable. If there is too much sameness in each episode, I may quit. The first is engaging to say the least. Northern Ireland is a good place for this show.

The Fall is another of those series that I didn't get into at the time, but given the lack of new drama, and reviews I felt I should revisit.

I was wrong, this is an impressive debut, while it doesn't have the mystery element, it is the beginning of a cracking game of cat and mouse.

Gillian Anderson is excellent as Stella, I'd argue it's her finest acting role. It's also obvious from this why Jamie Dornan had such a good career, he is one impressive chap.

Paul Spector is an absolute monster, he's clearly a psychopath, but one who's able to function well in the real world that makes him a very unique threat.

Belfast is not safe from Spector. 8/10.

Hiding behind my hands

Half way into the second episode and I'm frankly hiding behind my hands. Doran is terrifying but so good - and Anderson is excellent. I think its his casual disregard of women which scares me - and probably most women. I can see me watching all of this though - got serious potential.
