Missed opportunity?
Gernot S.14 March 2019
I can't stop thinking about all the hilarious meta-opportunities there would have been, if William Baldwin would have appeared as William Baldwin. Otherwisely solid episode!

Kidnapped by Danger (#6.14)
ComedyFan201019 December 2013
Warning: Spoilers
The team is working on the kidnapping movie. Jack tells Liz to write it as realistic as it was but is not happy that she included Nancy's character into it. Liz also acts like a blocker to make sure Jack doesn't hook up with his mother in law and gets her together with actor playing Jack instead. Jenna has issues with Weird Al who parodies her song. And Kenneth starts again from the bottom as a janitor.

Wonderful episode! Watching them recreating the story was hilarious. I also love the guest stars for this episode. Cynthia Nixon for the role of Nancy, William Baldwin an amazing choice for the movie Jack. And of course Weird Al who makes a great song at the end of the episode about the show we are watching.

Also enjoying Kenneth's journey to the top. Hope it goes further!

William Baldwin guest stars
safenoe3 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is meta, with William Baldwin playing an actor playing Jack in the Avery movie. I wish Stephen and Daniel also appeared. Anyway, William gets the Jack mannerisms to a tee and should have bagged an Emmy.

Mary Steenburgen guest stars as Diane, and Mary has a resemblance to CNN anchor Paula Newton.

Weird Al Yankovic makes a guest appearance as himself (of course) and he's hilarious! I love his song at the end credits where he refers how remarkable 30 Rock is still on.

It's easy to forget that 30 Rock and Aaron Sorkin's Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip debuted on NBC at the same time. Conventional wisdom was that Sorkin's powerhouse series be the one that would survive the first season, with 30 Rock being a one season wonder. But history has proved otherwise.
