Tom gets a mentor and Alex meets an old friend of Hal's

Warning: Spoilers
After the disappearance of the hotel's manageress Hal is promoted to acting manager which naturally irritates Tom. Tom has always felt that he was a bit of a failure so when TV presenter and self-help guru Larry Crysler turns up and Tom realises he is a fellow werewolf he naturally seeks his guidance. Larry is happy to volunteer his help; the problem is he is far from being the success Tom believes him to be. Alex meanwhile follows Hal to a meeting with his two hundred year old, oh so proper, friend Lady Mary… Hal is horrified feeling Alex may corrupt her; what he doesn't know is that when he isn't around she is as far from proper as it is possible to be! She also believes that she was his last victim and that her presence is all that is keeping him on the straight and narrow; Alex believes that she deserves to know the truth; that could be dangerous though.

This episode was considerably less violent than the previous two although that doesn't mean it wasn't entertaining. The stories involving Larry and Mary were fairly self-contained although I have a feeling they may have an effect on the characters that lasts a bit longer. Julian Barratt put in a suitably smarmy performance as Larry and Amanda Drew was fun as Mary; it was quite a surprise when her true personality was shown! If this episode did have a major weakness it was the absence of the evil Captain Hatch; without him there wasn't the sense of genuine unpleasantness.
