Cute but it could've been better.

Warning: Spoilers
First of all let me tell you that I know the Simpsons of today are not as good neither funny as they were before but I could not resist watching this episode for its plot. I thought this episode was pretty cute even though it didn't make me laugh on the whole episode. There were a few funny moments but too many of them were flat. Watching this episode would make you wish Bart had a girlfriend. But I guess the writers would let Bart be single until he grows up even though we probably will not see it. Although the ending made me happy but also a bit sad not for the lack of comedy but I'm glad they did a happy ending instead of making something ironic to the plot. P.S. Try to keep looking at the end of the credits if you still watch the Simpsons no matter how they are.

The Twenty-Fourth Season Starts Off Strong,
lesleyharris3025 March 2013
Moonshine River is a great Simpsons episode with a lot of very funny scenes, most of them coming from Homer in this episode and also a lot of laughs from Cletus's scenes. The Simpsons twenty-fourth season starts off strong,I really enjoyed the return of Bart's old girlfriends, even if they were only brief cameos,Gina (Sarah Michelle Gellar) from Wandering Juvie,Jenny (Anne Hathaway) from The Good,The Sad And The Drugly,Darcy (Natalie Portman) from Little Big Girl all make brief cameos, and Mary Spuckler (Zooey Deschanel) from Apocalypse Cow has a main role in this episode. The episode is lots of fun and laughs from start to finish and starts off the new season very well.

Bart looks back over all his past girlfriends to find out how he failed with all of them, the only successful relationship he had was with Mary Spuckler,so he decides to go to New York and win her back.

Bart then visits all his ex girlfriends who reject him except for Mary (Zooey Deschanel). Bart finds out that she went to New York and asks his parents to bring him there so he can case after her as he really has no one. To afford the trip to NY the Simpson's rent out Ned's house. Bart goes with his dad on train and in taxi to come to the door of Mary's house. Mary shows up and he does not recognize her, she tells him New York is a bust. Mary then sings a song about Bart on the guitar. Then her father comes to take her back to bring her home, Marge and Lisa also go to a canceled Shakespeare in the Park. Then Lisa comes up with the idea to do their own version of Romeo and Juliet only to get watered away. Bart then lets Mary go and she tells him to tells him to go after other girls. So he keeps the secret of where she goes. OK return with all the previous girlfriend voices coming back to the show.

EPISODE GRADE: B (MVP: Zooey Deschanel)
