Lifetime films traffic in a certain kind of narrative, namely infidelity, deception, dark romance, and occasionally murder. Tall, Dark, and Dangerous tackles at least three of these qualities, which is appropriate given the film is set partially around Valentine’s Day, a holiday ripe for sensational, slightly ridiculous narratives.
Following an underwhelming opening sequence in which Mercedes (Griselle Escotto) is menaced by a man on the phone before her house is broken into, the main narrative introduces quintessential Lifetime protagonist Alice Miles (Jamie Bernadette).
Alice is smart, wealthy, and, most importantly for Tall, Dark, and Dangerous, bad at relationships. When the film opens, Alice is promoted to partner at her law firm by her boss Ed (Eric Roberts), something her overly invested Woc work bestie Jane (Alana Walker) wants her to celebrate. Considering the rapidly approaching holiday and Alice’s lack of personal life, Jane boldly forces Alice to “shoot...

“People ask me, where are all the great exploitation movies today? The low-budget horror films? They’re on the Lifetime Network!” Shudder’s horror host Joe Bob Briggs once said, and he’s not entirely wrong about that. There’s plenty of entertainment value to be found in Lifetime’s particular brand of thriller, and a new year brings along with it a brand new slate.
Deadline reports on Lifetime’s Quarter 1: 2024 slate of original thrillers this afternoon, which promises fourteen brand new thrillers premiering here in the early months of the year.
Here’s the full lineup of Lifetime thrillers in the first quarter of 2024…
Dying For Fame (January 4 at 8pm Et/Pt). Starring Dylan Raine, Amelie Anstett. A career-driven tabloid reporter Anna (Raine) is assigned to write a profile about popular influencer Juliet (Anstett). During their time together, Anna discovers that many of Juliet’s fans aren’t real.

So you’re wading through piles of slasher films from the ‘80s, keen on discovering a lost gem far removed from the normal gang in the woods or high school sis-boom-bah stab and gab. You’re thinking maybe a different setting will yield a fresh take, already tired tropes blurring your vision and making the distinction between a hockey mask and a fencing one harder by the day. Well…have you tried the hospital yet? Most folks are terrified of the antiseptic halls and robotic empathy doled out by uncaring staff. (Yes, yes, they also save lives, I know. I’m trying to set a mood, dammit.) And if you do decide to enter the medical field, I strongly suggest you pay a visit to Hospital Massacre (1981), Israeli King of Schlock Boaz Davidson’s wild attempt at a horror comedy, where some of the humor is even intentional.

The new expansion for GTA Online has arrived today, and it’s attempting to bring a romantic theme to its typically frenzied and chaotic proceedings. The new update – titled Be My Valentine – is available for all players with PC or current generation versions of the game; PS3 and Xbox 360 players sadly won’t get a look at this new content.
This latest GTA Online update is fairly small in size when compared to a few of its predecessors, but the content is certainly sweet enough to justify the Valentine’s day theming. A new, modifiable vehicle and additional wardrobe items are currently at the forefront of the update, and both bring a familiarity that players of older Rockstar games may recognise.
In what looks almost like a hearkening to the smooth appeal of Rockstar’s L.A. Noire, the Albany Roosevelt vehicle makes a classic return along with some exciting...

It's that time of year again, the time when you rewatch holiday classic A Charlie Brown Christmas and find yourself wondering if any of the other 44 Peanuts specials are worth your time. That's not a hypothetical figure, by the way: While several of the Charles Schulz–scripted and post-Schulz-era specials complain about the evils of consumerism, there are (to date) 45 Peanuts specials. Many of these short, frequently seasonal programs follow formulas established in the early specials, several of which were directed by Bill Melendez and scored by the inimitable Vince Guaraldi. But even some of the more recent shorts, like Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown, are fun, and all of them are available online (even the ones that have only been officially released on VHS tape, like Snoopy: The Musical). Still, while many Peanuts specials lack the early shorts' zeal for childlike play, certainly some are worth watching (or rewatching...
