I diagree with the previous review on this site hugely. I thought this was another stellar episode of the show, and one that managed once again to combine humour and pathos in a perfect blend.

Yes, Matthew Perry is overacting a little, but there's no comparison between his performance here to his later series 'The Odd Couple', where he just looked ill and going through the motions.

Here he is vibrant and funny, clearly relishing the opportunity to play both big comedic scenes and then softer moments.

With the ensemble cast around him (all of whom could easily carry their own shows), this was another lovely episode.

Then the date calls them all the names that she calls them outside of group. The next day when the get to group they all tell him that Ryan is now grief eating as he eats so much. Ryan then comes up with the idea that everyone brings up some information on Lauren as they do not know much about her. We then get a story about one of Danny who is too happy for how bad his life seems. Ryan's eating has now gotten into eating in the show so the net group is the guys not letting food be allowed in the group. Then Ryan decides to be in control by stopping his food eating. Lauren comes in with her friend to get the dirt on her. Then Anne asks the question if she loves him so she does not take it well since she is the leader of the group. Ryan then tells Danny to say goodbye to his past life and move on to be happier. The guys then come to Ryan's house this time to eat food with him to stop him from grieve eating. Lauren then comes to his house to show the love she has with him. Ryan then tells her about how he feel in love with his past wife. Boring episode with the grieve eating plot being weird and sometimes funny.

EPISODE GRADE: C (MVP: Laura Benanti)
