I watched this film a while ago and never finished it. I found the director/writer Joe Christiana through the Cuttingroom movie podcast (Brilliant podcast BTW) and stumbled upon this piece of work. I recently revisited it and truly appreciated it for its writing and story effort. It really works. Like Primer (And perhaps the gym) It takes effort and work the first time around to get through it. Eventually, if you're determined enough, you will be astonished and admiring what you've just been through.
The downsides are probably the lighting and camera-work. It is what makes it amateur- ish. That's what you have to get through the first time, at least it was for me.
I say that you give it a watch at least once and if you feel confused (which I bet you will be) but intrigued, watch it again. Amazing work.
