An amazing anime!
redrockmedia904 November 2014
This is definitely an anime worth wasting your time over! Campione! needs to be given a lot more credit and worth than what a lot of people are making it out to be. For example, The story is amazing, it doesn't really start off slow and it gets straight to the point of what the story itself is all about. The story can be confusing to some but, through watching more episodes, everything starts to make sense and unfold helping the viewer to understand. The characters in this anime are acted out amazingly! You find yourself loving most of the characters equally, even though at times some of the characters can seem annoying and you feel like they should not be in this, but after watching episode after episode, you start to realise why those characters were made and where they all fit equally into the story.

Note, I'm reviewing the dubbed version.

Warning: Spoilers
An anime that deserves to be watched. What starts off as an incident isolated within a single pantheon quickly expands to cover a wide variety of different gods and myths, from Greece to Persia. Our male lead this time around is Godou, a kid who was blessed/cursed with various abilities he stole from a Persian god he defeated in mortal combat. These abilities are a rainbow of destruction and visuals that keeps the action intense without all that "pause every twenty seconds to talk about our moves" nonsense that the shonen anime are known for.

In a good anime, every character gets a shot at the spotlight and this one delivers excellently on story and character. And plot. The powers and abilities of each character are rather diverse and have their own visuals to accompany them. The characters themselves are very likable and we see that each female's feelings for Godou seem genuine and aren't forced like they are in other harem anime.

I would've given this show 10/10 stars but for two reasons. One, I am not a fan of this cringe humor that the Japanese seem to always slip into their shows. Two, there is a particular scene that, while very emotional and touching, slides a little too close to hentai territory (don't worry, they don't actually reach it) and we are reminded about it for the rest of the episode. If you can manage to overcome those slight grievances I had against this show, you will enjoy it from beginning to end.

I'm SO FURIOUS I'M SHAKING!

I'm a HUGE anime/manga/comic book fan, and right now I'm just LIVID! It's one thing to take a religion, and change a few details about it to celebrate it with respect like Saint Saiyea, but it's a whole NOTHER ISSUE when you completely be+@rdize someone late religion to sell your crappy little13 episode series! These Asians are really playing hard and fast with other peoples religions! I wonder how they'd like it if it were done to them? To top it off, they have a track record of taking things set in stone and COMPLETELY upending them! Look no further than late 90's Marvel comics! They got their hands on it, and all of a sudden we have multiple universes, heroes retiring so ethnic people or women can take the suit, and they COMPLETELY changed the way our Heroes looked! Its not my religion they're bashing here, but who knows where they are... The point IS that they're SO disrespectful, and if we don't start looking out for each other and saying "This is NOT ok," then they will just keep disrespecting everyone until they get to YOU!
