Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan are all now associated with “The Associate,” as the trio of British actors are in final talks to star in the Paramount+ series from Guy Ritchie and Ronan Bennett.
The project had initially been developed with the title “The Donovans,” with plans to function as an across-the-pond spin-off of the Showtime series “Ray Donovan,” which was led by Liev Schreiber for seven seasons and a film adaptation. However, it has been reworked into a standalone series with no connections to that franchise.
The one-hour gangster drama series comes from Showtime, MTV Studios and 101 Studios. As reported by Variety in February, Bennett is fully writing the series and Ritchie will direct. Both also serve as executive producers, alongside David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin and Ivan Atkinson.

On September 15, 2023, three-time Daytime Emmy Award winner Billy Miller passed away following a lengthy battle with bipolar disorder, just two days shy of what would have been his 44th birthday. Two months later, his death was officially ruled as suicide by the Travis County Medical Examiner.
On the first anniversary of his death, and just two days short of what would have been his 45th birthday, fans of the beloved actor took to social media on Sunday to share thoughts and memories of Miller, including photos, videos and other forms of media.
“He was the best actor! He could take on a role and make it so good! Rest In Peace Billy you are so missed,” said one user on X (formerly Twitter). “Billy, you’ll always be remembered this way – you will get the justice that you deserve. Thank you for sharing yourself with the rest of us,” said another.

Since it first hit theaters in 1975, "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" has been a spooky season mainstay and a staple for late-night moviegoers. Based on the stage musical of the same name — which came out two years prior — the cult classic introduces a young couple, Janet Weiss and Brad Majors (Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick), whose car breaks down near a mysterious mansion; when they call on the house to ask for help, they're met by a fascinating cast of characters, to say the absolute least.
"The Rocky Horror Picture Show" is referred to as a "cult classic" for a reason; as Roger Ebert once put it, "it was ignored by pretty much everyone" when it originally came out. These days, pretty much every major city offers midnight viewings of the movie, inviting audiences to dress up, throw things at the screen, and participate while the movie screens. So what...

“The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” is back for Season 2, and this time around there are a number of new characters to keep straight. With Sauron revealed to be Halbrand at the end of Season 1, the chess pieces are now fully in the open and the Dark Lord is masquerading as yet another new character this season in order to try and forge the titular rings. We’ve also got drama with the dwarves, in-fighting amongst the elves and that guy who most definitely is Gandalf is wandering the desert with a harfoot.
Absent in Season 2 is Nazanin Boniadi who played Bronwyn, who exited the show. But new to the cast are Ciaran Hinds, Rory Kinnear and plenty more filling out this prequel series that tackles J.R.R. Over the past 20 years, Sandra Oh has been a darling of the Emmys, accumulating 14 nominations across multiple genres. But surprisingly, she hasn’t won yet. This year she’s nominated for Best TV Movie for producing “Quiz Lady,” in which she also stars with Awkwafina as sisters trying to pay off their mom’s gambling debts. It looks like a close race as none of the five films in the category have any other nominations, so knowing that this is a chance to finally award Oh her first Emmy might tip the scales in her favor.

“Don’t worry,” Kyra Sedgwick assures me as she assembles a salad. “I washed my hands.”
We’re in her Manhattan apartment with its commanding view of Central Park, and Sedgwick, a self-described “putterer,” is in perpetual motion — microwaving black beans, fetching a serving spoon for the chicken mole, liberating a bottle of Tabasco from the cupboard. The feast she’s pulling together is leftovers from a dinner Sedgwick and her husband, Kevin Bacon, hosted for her castmates from “All of Me,” an Off Broadway play about two disabled 20-somethings who meet cute in Schenectady. In the romantic comedy, Sedgwick plays an emotionally callused woman juggling two jobs to pay the rent. She’s also struggling to accept her daughter’s worsening condition due to muscular dystrophy, as well as her desire to have her own life.

Paramount Global is pulling the plug on the standalone streaming version of its multiplex movie network Showtime.
The Showtime app will stop functioning on April 30, several months after Paramount integrated Showtime’s film and television content into the premium tier of Paramount Plus. The two flagship Showtime linear channels — Showtime East and Showtime West — were also rebranded to Paramount Plus with Showtime in January.
“Now that subscribers can access their favorite Showtime programs on Paramount Plus by subscribing to the Paramount Plus with Showtime plan, the Showtime streaming service will shut down on April 30, 2024,” a Paramount spokesperson said in a note to customers published earlier this month.
Paramount has allowed current monthly and annual Showtime subscribers to continue paying for an accessing the service for weeks after Showtime content was integrated into Paramount Plus.

Guy Ritchie is behind the new 10-episode drama, which will follow two generations of gangsters, their businesses, their complex relationships, and the man they call to fix their problems.
After seven seasons, Ray Donovan was cancelled on Showtime four years ago, but viewers saw more of Ray in a wrap-up film in January 2022. It's not yet known if that show's star, Liev Schreiber, will somehow be part of the new series.

Linear TV advertising, which faced tough comparisons with the midterm-election-boosted 2022 frame, declined 15% to $2.28 billion. The dual strikes of 2023 also affected the pipeline at CBS and other networks, further squeezing ad sales.

As promised in January, Paramount Global is taking steps to sunset the standalone Showtime streamer before the end of 2023.
The integration of Showtime into the larger Paramount+ streaming world is one step closer to being complete as Paramount Global has seemingly eliminated the ability for new customers to sign up for the standalone subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) version of the premium cable channel. Not only is the Showtime streamer no longer available via the channel’s website, but it has also disappeared from Prime Video Channels as well.
In June, the ad-free tier of Paramount+ was rebranded Paramount+ with Showtime. At the time, Paramount said that it would be sunsetting the standalone Showtime streamer later in the year. While existing customers will still have access for the time being, the only way to sign up for the service is now via Paramount+. Save $20 Now $5.99+ / month paramountplus.com

Actor Venkatesh Daggubati is rocking it out with a fiercely intense look in the latest poster for his upcoming crime-drama-action film ‘Saindhav’. In the poster, the 62-year-old, ‘Srinivasa Kalyanam’ actor was just looking straight up menacing, as if he only means business now and nothing can really stand in his way.

Today’s episode is all about my chat with director Stephen Williams and screenwriter Stefani Robinson about Chevalier which had its premiere at Toronto last year and was released in theaters April 21st and is available now on Apple TV, Prime Video, and Vudu.

Stephen Williams’ breakthrough came when his first film, Soul Survivor, which he wrote and directed, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival to critical acclaim. He went on to direct several TV episodes and movies such as Hard Time: The David Milgaard Story, and in 2004, Williams directed an episode of Lost, the show that won the Emmy for Best Drama that year. Hank Azaria has built his career on two pillars: as a voice artist on “The Simpsons” and as a guest on a slew of hit shows from “Friends” to “Ray Donovan.” And with his recent turn on the fifth and final season of Amazon Prime Video’s “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” Azaria has delivered another masterclass in guest-acting.
“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” follows Rachel Brosnahan as the titular Miriam “Midge” Maisel, who embarks on a career in stand-up comedy after her husband (Michael Zegen) leaves her. Over the show’s five seasons, she experiences the ups and downs of said career with the help of her manager, Susie Myerson (Alex Borstein). Toward the end of season five, Midge is closer to seeing her career truly take off as she works in TV after she is hired to write for “The Gordon Ford Show” in the season premiere. And that’s where Azaria comes in.

Netflix has renewed Rana Naidu, the Indian adaptation of Showtime’s hit crime drama Ray Donovan, for a second season.
Rana Naidu‘s first season, which launched on March 10, held Netflix’s no. 1 spot as the most-watched series in India for its first three weeks of release. The show continues to rank among the streamer’s top 10 series in India and previously trended in global top 10 for non-English TV shows for two weeks.
Much like Ray Donovan, which famously stars Liev Schreiber, the Indian show follows the titular character Rana Naidu (played by Rana Daggubati), who makes a living by fixing the messes left behind by his famous clients. Famed as India’s go-to “fixer of the stars,” Naidu nevertheless struggles to cope with his own domestic situation, thanks to a fraught relationship with his wife and two children.

When the Writers Guild of America announced their 2023 nominations, the Episodic Drama category featured installments from juggernaut contenders “Better Call Saul” and “Ozark” and breakout series “Bad Sisters” and “Severance.” It also featured one surprise — and absolutely inspired — entry: the series finale of Paramount+’s “The Good Fight.” Written by series co-creators Michelle King and Robert King, the episode is the first of this critically-acclaimed legal drama and political satire to earn a nomination from the guild. Could that unexpected bid signal another surprise nomination at the upcoming Emmy Awards?
Both the WGA and the Emmys have certainly shown their appreciation for the Kings before for “The Good Wife,” the predecessor series to “The Good Fight.” At the Emmys, they earned their first Drama Writing nomination for the pilot back in 2010 and a bookend bid for the series finale “End” in 2016. The latter nomination was certainly unexpected: even though the...

"Power Book II: Ghost" is known for throwing viewers a curveball (or several) now and then, and season three, which premiered on March 17, is no exception. So far, new characters have been introduced, while one has reappeared after being seemingly killed off. But viewers are saddened to see that one familiar face hasn't returned for the new season.
Season two of the hit Starz drama introduced defense attorney Davis MacLean's (Method Man) brother, Theo Rollins, who's in prison for taking the fall for a manslaughter charge for the crooked lawyer. That season, Theo was played by Redman, the rap icon and well-known Method Man collaborator.

‘Class of ’83’ actor Abhishek Bhalerao, who is seen playing the role of Inspector Malvade in the web show ‘Rana Naidu’, talked about the apprehension of getting stereotyped. He also added that right now the focus for him is to get a good project and not the length of his role in it.
He said: “I don’t fear getting stereotyped. I am very secure with the kind of characters that I get. Even if it’s a role of a cop usually, the nature of the cop’s character and the context of the scene has always been different. So, it is definitely not monotonous. Also, I love to play these real-life heroes, the child in me gets happy when I wear the full uniform and perform.”
Abhishek is known for his work in ‘Chopsticks’, ‘Little Things’, ‘Masaba Masaba’, among others.
