Warning: Spoilers
This episode deals with a subject not usually seen on television, let alone on a sitcom catering to the family crowd. It has to do with the way Claire begins acting weird, which Phil tells his son is a symptom of a female cycle. To Luke's surprise, it is not only his mother, but his sisters Haley and Alex are afflicted by the same malady, which obviously he cannot fathom, let alone comprehend.

Mitchell is preparing a big party for his partner Cameron. He has hired a party planner that is going to do a celebration on the theme of the ever so gay theme of "The Wizard of Oz". The plans are halted after Cam informs Mitch about the destruction by a tornado of parts of his home town area in Illinois. So everything must be changed in just moments.

Gail Mancuso directed this chapter which was written by Danny Zuker. The other main theme that is developed in the program is how some of us cringe at the mere idea of growing old, which is a fact of life, but few like to deal with it in a mature way. That is basically what is keeping Cam so on edge; he thinks he is really 10, but in reality he is celebrating his 40th birthday!

Hysterical Women Trope Sucks
dannibeaudry-6090629 March 2023
The Hysterical Women trope in this episode was pretty insulting. I don't need to see another poorly written "women are crazy monsters on their periods and men are just poor, poor, innocent victims" storyline ever again, thanks.

The other storylines threaded into the episode we're okay, but the hysterical women trope really killed it for me. It sucks that shows like this reinforce this idea that women are just crazy and emotional all the time, I watched this with my partner and he used it as an opportunity to tell me, among other things, that he relates to "poor innocent Phil" and called me premenstrual for getting upset at him for his comments. Im actually not in that phase of my period right now if you must know, but the sexism I faced in my own house just now because of this episode sucked about as much as a period cramp.

This episode is insulting.

Are all american women so pathetic, crazy and weak when it comes to periods or does american tellivision just like being uneducated insulting pricks??

If you don't know the subject, don't feature it!!
