There are very few movies which are on the topic of caste system and Discrimination. We need more movies on this topic which shows the pain and suffering caused by caste system and Discrimination. The issue of caste system and Discrimination must be Raised through more and more cinema and shows so that world can be made aware about Caste system and Discrimination which is the worst form of discrimination witnessed by Human kind since the beginning of time.

nbgawai17 March 2022
After watching this movie I knew more information about how Shudra were treated by. And what types of efforts Bharatratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar took for making Shudra to treat like humans while making Constitution of India. And why Babasaheb Ambedkar is the greatest intelligent leader of India. Really watchable movie.

A much required movie for the ages.
RaoulCauvin-6226819 March 2022
A much required movie for the ages.

It's a movie in its simplest form.

Though while comparing it with the more prolific Indian movie industry one can find some points to criticize the rawness and brutal reality and how it's depicted over here.

There's a huge difference Between making a propaganda film by distorting the historical facts and evidences, which has become a norm nowadays but This movie feels like a breath of fresh air and provides a new perspective on the life and history of the real people of India. Jai Hind, Jai Bhim.

Story of revenge by so called upper class landlord who brutally massacres entire shudra village
bamcef-delta21 October 2012
Excellent artwork and promotional song. Beyond this the movie does no justice to the title "Shudra-the rising". In fact the movie is deceptive and antipathetic to the title. What I inferred from the title was that the movie would show the struggle which "shudras" (aboriginals enslaved and subjugated by the aryan race invaders) have been undergoing (in past as well as in 65 years of independent India) to attain emancipation, education, equality and dignity. The movie instead shows how foreign invaders despised, abused and degenerated them portraying demoralizing, distasteful picture. Debauchery, moral corruption and shrewdness of the upper class was trivialized. Climax was abrupt. End documentary was like microscopic warning on cigarette pack. Entire movie runs for about 120 minutes. It seems the movie sustained severe censure. Three stars only for acting and locations.

Excellent Move
imranmushahid27 March 2022
The movie do justice to show the atrocities done by the upper cast to lower cast people in india. But it's another story that these atrocities are being born happily by these people even in today's world. It's their respect to the upper cast thag makes them lower cast. In the movie almost all the time they keep saying Maalik Maalik..

How the lower caste people in India lived in historical times.
touchpad-cm724 October 2012
Warning: Spoilers
A historical movie distorting history is not acceptable. The movie claims the caste system to be prevalent worldwide. The director has confused racism with cast ism. Cast ism, as created by cunning "Brahmins" is worst form of social system denying education, freedom of choosing employment, financial independence, expression of thoughts, dignity and self esteem to the people born in caste treated as lower. This aspect has been shown accurately. A film touching such an inflamed topic is expected to convey a social message. The title of the movie substantiated this expectation. But the director abruptly ended the movie after showing massacre of helpless people. "The rising" part of their struggle was censured, I guess. Dr Ambedkar, who relentlessly fought for the "shudras", was shown as compatriot of the people who perpetuated this caste system even after India's independence.

This Friction is an epic flop failed to divide the Indians, especially Hindus.
TheNonSmoker5 November 2021
The movie is extremely racist, casteist, propagating false information to simulate a divide between Indian community.

The fact:

Caucasians (Europeans) created Hutus and Tutsis in Rwanda, Africa, to divide and rule the native population, and for this reason, the Rwanda Genocide occurred.

The same attempts and inequalities Europeans also tried to create amongst Indians by separating Northern India and Southern India into "Aryans" VS "Dravidians" and further dividing Hinduism into 3,000 castes and 25,000 sub-castes.

The Sanskrit term 'Arya' has derived from the mother of all India-European languages Sanskrit, and 'Arya' stands for 'Nobel' or 'Nobility'' which is clearly not a race, also Buddha have said something about 'Four Arya Satya' or 'Four Noble Truths', so it is pretty clear.

Aryan Invasion, migration, tourism into India is totally made-up conspiracy as per Archaeological and Historical facts and figures have showed, Sinauli Excavations findings, Saraswati River existence dating, Roma Gypsy's in Europe having Indian origin, etc totally debunks the Invasion myth.

So don't fall into these Aryan Dravidian conspiracy. The so-called "Aryan invasion theory", actually the colonizer's main agenda is to justify and normalize Mughal, British invasion/enslavement of India.

Disappointing
R0biSh0bi19 March 2022
I was hoping this would cover the link between poverty and Dalits but instead of it was just based on the pretext of a what is not considered fiction in India. The Aryan invasion theory was debunked years ago, the story and acting is weak.

Thought this was a parody!
vivek-001243 August 2022
I sat to watch down the movie but couldn't finish as it just seemed seemingly boring, distorted and a work of frustration rather than art.

It stretches for over an hour and half but the premise of the movie is set in first 30 minutes. A Brahmin priest is shown as a cruel monster who uses antics to keep so-called oppressed Shudras in check.

A Thakur (Rajput) is then shown followed by a Vaishya as well.

Needless to say, there's a forceful, historically-incorrect attempt to make all the three look like predators and the oppressed slaves as some kind of "yes sir" folks.

The movie has no plot, it has no connected direction either. It's just a bunch of scenes put together. Nothing more than that.

It finally ends with a clip where the narrator compares Bhimrao to the likes of Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, and tries to imply that he vanished the lines of varnas by writing ideal rules. Well, if he really did that, why do you still reserve 80% seats?

It's a work of fiction. I would only recommend if you can keep your brain in the refrigerator and common sense in the garbage bin, and have nothing better to do in your life.
