Methed Out Moe
shawnblackman19 October 2015
This one takes place shortly after Bikini Girls On Ice(2009) where the killer named Moe is putting some new girls on ice. These girls are the Pinup Girls who are doing a party for some clients nearby. Moe fresh from the Bikini Girls proceeds to ice up these ladies. He seems to be grunting more than ever and appears to be on methadone as his spastic outbursts dictate. This one is better than the first for sure. The filmmakers had more experience and money for this one and it shows. Fast paced, gripping violence and even more nudity than the first. Worth the watch. Follows most slasher formats so don't expect much more but maybe another On Ice down the road. Kudos to all the people involved in the film. 5/10.

Mo' Moe.

Warning: Spoilers
Oh boy, just what the horror world needed… a lousy sequel to lousy 2009 slasher Bikini Girls On Ice. This one picks up where the last one left off, with wheezing maniac mechanic Moe (William Jarand) targeting a new group of girls: the performers of a burlesque show.

There are just two things that a film of this nature needs to deliver: hot girls, preferably unclothed, and creative kills with lots of gore. Although Pinup Dolls on Ice definitely delivers more nudity than its predecessor, the girls really aren't all that attractive (if I had paid to see them strip, I'd want my money back!), and the death scenes are extremely disappointing, special effects limited to some fake blood liberally splashed about, and a severed head in the film's closing moments.

Here's a run down of what you can expect if, like me, you decide to watch against your better judgement: a totally naked chick with a ridiculous trout pout and silicon breasts, an irritating slacker dude with long hair, a gratuitous shower scene, lots and lots of uninspired screaming and running and hiding in the dark, a spot of necrophilia, loads of poorly acted conversation between the irritating strippers, a predictable death for the cop (it's meant to be a surprise, but I saw it coming a mile away), a 'shock' final act in which the last survivor also dies (yawn), and an epilogue that promises a third movie which I'll still probably watch even though I know it'll be crap.

2.5 out of 10, rounded up to 3 for at least trying with the nekkidness.

Pinup Dolls on Fire!
Alan-4219 November 2013
Wow! I had the pleasure of screening this gem at the 2013 New York City Horror Festival this past weekend and all I can say is "AMEN"! Montreal-based filmmakers Geoff Klein & Melissa Mira of BGOI FILMS have welcomed us back to the 'Slasher' genre with Pinup Dolls On Ice - a high voltage feature that delivers real scares, brutal violence, and the toughest bunch of Final Girls who can act the stilettos off the current genre's contemporaries! I have not seen a film of this caliber since Haute Tension, Severance and Wolf Creek. With rich production value, a great tongue-in-cheek script, a taut, nerve racking pace, and lush sound design guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat, Pinup Dolls On Ice is not only a 'welcome back' to a beloved genre, but a re-imagining of where it can (and should) be taken. Yeah...I'm a fan of this one!

Grunt, grunt, grunt.....grunt, grunt.

Warning: Spoilers
I can honestly say the girl on the cover in G-string and pasties looks like something that is part of the film. Imagine that. There is a deranged killer on the loose in Lancaster Park, Canada. He makes a lot of noise as he constantly grunts. His background is introduced about 50 minutes into the film. Say "hello" to Moe (William Jarand). The "Pinup Dolls" is the name of group of five young ladies who perform a burlesque style show, entertaining men, but drawing the line. They don't do nudity. Our killer likes to put dead girls on ice...and then use them.

This is an eighties style slasher filmed in Canada. Humorous banter, plenty of blood, some nudity, and not much in creating characters. In the first scene, Kristy (Ashley Laventure) is all set up to be our "Final Girl" ...

Guide: F-word, FF nudity (Ashley Laventure, Emily Crighton plus some corpses.) Necrophilia.

A generally fun slasher
kannibalcorpsegrinder15 December 2022
Agreeing to help an old friend, a burlesque dance troop arrives for a performance at a special campground in the woods, but when they start to go missing realize that the stories involving a hulking killer living in the area are true when they start to disappear one-by-one.

This was quite a fun and enjoyable indie slasher. Among the better features here is the rather enjoyable setup that brings a lot of to like while still somewhat connecting to the original. Featuring enough references and mentions of the original rampage through the sheriff's continuous searches for the maniac, this goes quite well with the girls and their appearance performing there. Showing a nice bond with their sisterhood and dedication to each other while also having fun performing their show, the group is quite fun and starts to work a fun storyline here. As well, the film scores quite well where, much like the original, the stalking scenes are quite impressive and enjoyable. Opening with an extended chase along the beach where the fully-nude victim has to escape the axe-wielding killer, this sets the bar rather well for the type of chase scene here. The sudden appearance of ambushing a couple alone on a nearby playground or the one model in the showers who thinks her friends are playing with her as she changes come off just as good, featuring suspenseful setups and brutal, frantic confrontations with the madman. That leads in part to the other enjoyable aspect which is the maniacal killer himself. While not the most physically muscular, he's one of the most imposing and vicious in the genre as he'll charge after someone and run like a wild madman with an axe armed and ready to use. The pained groaning and screaming during everything he does make for a creepy aide to his scenes as he clearly doesn't mind announcing his presence, and to cap it off with the viciousness to dish out the brutal, gory deaths or non-fatal punishment since no one leaves unscathed in any form. All give this a wholly enjoyable feel here while there isn't much to dislike with this one. One of the few disappointing features here is the rather underwhelming backstory for the killer, who we've finally given a motive for but makes no sense. It comes off as a clumsy and hamfisted way to explain everything and is really underexplained to help us get a better understanding of his rampage. As well, the finale could be potentially disappointing in terms of the survivors and the overall setup this provides which can lead to a pretty flat ending here. Combined with some traditional indie-style movie-making flaws from time to time, these here are what hold this one down.

Rated Unrated/R: Graphic Violence, Extreme Graphic Language, and Full Nudity.

Better than it's predecessor!
hotaru-8607512 July 2020
After watching the first movie I was thinking it lacks something. Yeah, it had psychopath and some nudity but... no story behind the stalker. Second movie goes in the same direction, with lots of gore, nudity and killer named Moe who isn't a bad actor after all. Five pinups after 'party' in local trailer park are getting picked one by one by a grunting, ominously looking killer obsessed with ice. His backstory is explained in this movie but it is a bit of a disappointment. Kills are brutal but some of them are done off screen which isn't great. It wasn't easy to pick final girl and ending was a bit unexpected as well but for fans of slasher genre I can recommend it!
