Ivy is still angry with her director for casting Lee Conroy, Bernadette Peters, her mother in the show, in the role of her mother in the forthcoming Broadway production of "Smash." Tensions seem to be escalating between the two until our director finds out that it's Ivy's birthday. He takes her out, not knowing that she is having a separate party of her own which he has not been invited to.
He has brought Liza Minnelli, playing herself, to sing to Ivy. Minnelli comes off as ready for retirement. Her voice is so-so at best; she is now quite heavy and is no longer able to hit the high notes. Come on Liza, you once won an Oscar,a fete that your mother couldn't accomplish. Time for you to call it a day.
Looks like Karen has made a big mistake in wearing her beau's jacket. Look what's inside. Hope she isn't picked up by the police. What a scandal that would be. Derrick and Eileen would go wild.
