Very reminiscence of halloween movies decades ago, great watch for childrens.

These pups and piper's ghost form reminds me of apple's memoji lol. It started out of nowhere, with no context then things escalated quickly from bad to worst. Still i gave it a chance, continue watching it solely because of those 3 cute adorable puppies. Just based on the look, giving me casper vibe. Plot-wise reminds me of the haunted mansion, halloween movies, etc.

All the casts seem to be fresh (new talents) since the acting was a bit off and oftenly felt awkward. But still tolerable at least for me. Acting skills were not that bad although not compelling enough for me (maybe its enough for childrens).

The storyline was very reminiscence of most of the past childrens halloween movies (specifically disney and fox movies), and very family-friends centric, hence nothing special. Adapted the same plot and formula as other 90s and early 20 disney/fox movies. Falls in fantasy genre, nothing much in action but a bit of adventure a d comedy. The graphics were awful tho, very low in budget. Neanwhile, loving the simple sound scores and music. Great intro song btw. Tbh one of the ghost hunter - jink jones remimds me of jujube from the drag race lol. Each episode runs about 20 minutes. Recommended.

Shameless Recycle Of Spooy Buddies
jeremycrimsonfox2 October 2022
One Halloween, three pups, Lewey, Chewey, and Booey. Go into Maplecrest Manor looking for treats, as the house's owner, Madame Maples, is holding a seance to summon pets of the deceased to join them. The three pups ruin the seance, causing the circle to be broken and an evil spirit known as Grim to be freed, and making a deal after falling for his plea, they are turned into ghosts while Grim sucks their life out, turning alive. Thirty years later, the Hazel family actually buys the manor to fix-up after past tenants were scared away by the three pups, and end up making friends with the kids, Freddie and Mimi. Now the two, alongside Piper, their new friend and granddaughter of Madame Maples, must help the pups return to living form, while avoiding the bumbling amateur ghost hunters Cleo and Edwin.

Wow, where do I even begin with this? Another show from Air Bud Entertainment, who earlier in 2022 released Super PupZ, a show that is basically a rehash of elements of Super Buddies with a new storyline, Phantom Pups reuses elements from Spooky Buddies in a storyline that would make the 1995 movie Casper facepalm. Lewey, Chewey, and Booey are basically Pip if the pup had siblings and Grim is a recycle of the Halloween Hound, only with a different motive. The CGI still looks like it belongs in a PS2 (seriously, can't this company take a hint and actually get a better CGI software) and the titles are basically puns of having words starting with f replaced with ph (seriously, puns are only funny and clever when used sparingly). While I give it two stars for its heartwarming story, sadly, I cannot rate it higher due to its use of cliche storyline, bad special effects, and the fact that some scenes may be too scary or intense for the target audience of kids (the ones easily suckered into shows involving talking animals).

My son loves it

Great kids series with likable actors and decent special effects. A very creative plot, simple and innocent, perfect for children.

There is a little too much of the orchestra-like cinematic music. I do feel the show could have used a few scenes without the cinematic music experience.

This show is underapreciated and the reviews here, should actually come from children.

There is something about Canadian actors that allows you to see their values as human beings while playing a character. This can be felt and sensed on all episodes. They are all a good fit for this type of show but primarily for children, the intended audience.

Thank you for putting this together. It will go down in history as a show for us to remember as we grow older as a family.
