Picking Up The Pace
DKosty1235 July 2012
Warning: Spoilers
This episode starts so quickly that it makes the pace of the original series look as old as JR. We have Rebecca finishing her confession to Christopher about the email that caused his break up with Elena to marry her. Yet she tells the second lie about it saying that Tommy wrote the email. Why Rebecca will not tell the truth is obvious but even this lie puts their marriage on thin ice. The relationship between Rebecca and Tommy is strained too.

Since Tommy is on Southfork at the party, Christopher goes out from the conversation, immediately approaches Tommy and starts beating him up. Bobby breaks up the fight and calls the cops once he finds out what is going on. Then a short while later, Bobby gets a delivery from a server and finds out he just sold Southfork to JR. Bobby gets in his car with Christopher and immediately heads for his lawyer office, which is empty when he arrives. He calls the cops again, along with another lawyer where he finds out what JR did can not be easily undone.

Oil trucks start rolling onto Southfork and things move along from here. Christopher even continues another Southfork tradition and becomes the first cast member of the current edition to go out and get drunk. It's never real heaven for long on Southfork, but as this one goes along Bobby gets nothing but bad news.

Elena and Marta both get bad news and set up some plot lines down the road as their relationships with the Ewings become more complicated in this show. And J R flies off in a chopper leaving John Ross in charge of Southfork. Ann Ewing pitches in to try and slow down the oil trucks and drilling.

I'd say this is just as addicting as ever though the internet did not have an after broadcast this week. Am wondering if that after cast is going to ever feature JR or some of the other minor cast members? Bobby and Sue Ellen are on it. This episode does not have much Sue Ellen.
