'Baadshah' a complete two and half hour entertainer.
spruthvi355 April 2013
The movie starts off in a pace way directly focusing on the story and the love track between Kajal Aggarwal And NTR Jr. Kajal was really awesome , glamorous and descent in her "Janaki" character .

As usual all expect Brahmanandam to be right from the first frame to last frame of the film when the director is Srinu Vytla , but here it's not in that way. And actually to say there are two heroes in the film , NTR in the first half and Mr.Brahmanandam in the second. NTR's and Brahmanandam's acting was at peaks . M.S. Narayana was good . K.V.Guhan was really awesome while capturing fights and songs . Thaman proved himself by giving great background score and original scores too. There is no chance for you to have a doubt about the dance performances in the movie , which were out class. Hat's off to Gopi Mohan and Kona Venkat for there great story and outstanding-hilarious-awesome-funny dialogs.

Hope it to be one of the biggest blockbusters in NTR'a as well as Srinu Vytla's career . You will surely have two and a half hours of full entertainment. This film is Rs. 150 worth and surely go watch it.

Pale Entertainer
Vihari_Krishna21 September 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Story - Before you watch this movie, first watch these films - Don (SRK), Dookudu and King. The story is a mishmash of all the above mentioned movies.

Performances - Jr.NTR looked awkward in Badshah getup. He's got nothing great to perform in that role except to utter some dialogues, wearing a cold face. But it is the NTR in wedding planner's role, that wins you over. He is extremely spontaneous in that role. He's uttered dialogues in Telangana accent with utmost ease (Even better than Mahesh in Dookudu). Kajal looks artificial, but she did her role nicely. Nasser is wasted. It is not appropriate to cast an actor of his stature in this kind of roles which are confined to comedy. M.S.Naryana is excellent as "Revenge" Nageswara Rao (Pun thrown at a popular Telugu director who also works in Bollywood). His mannerisms and dialogues are very nice, though his character lasts only for a few scenes. Brahmanandam's comedy is good, but is becoming a regular stuff slowly. Navadeep and Siddharth did their jobs perfectly. All others are fine.

Music - A couple of songs scored by Thaman are nice. However, his background score is not good. It is poor actually. The Theme music given to Baadshah role in this film, strongly resembles the tune of "Dee daba do daba.." from the movie Shadow (Venkatesh).

Other Departments - Art work, Cinematography are very nice. Editing is okay. Many scenes are there to be trimmed, especially in first half.

Story, Screenplay, Dialogues & Direction - Story is a mishmash of several hit movies, which includes Srinu Vaitla's own movies. Screenplay is nice, but an old fashioned one. Dialogues are written with a sole purpose of evoking a punch or a rhyming in every single word uttered by actors. Hence, they look forced and inappropriate. Direction is adequate. It is high time for Srinu Vaitla, to come out of his regular format.

Final Piece - This film offers nothing new or different from "Dookudu". The story is a very routine one and comedy is even more routine, with forced punch/rhyming dialogues. This is NOT a bad film. It is in fact a watchable film, provided if you have not watched "Dookudu" and "King". But if you have previous experiences of watching those movies, this appears like a pale carbon copy to those movies. Strictly "Okay" film.

Baadshah is a successful entertainer for this summer.
venkat_adithya5 April 2013
NTR is brilliant performance as Baadshah is the main highlight of the movie. His comedy timing is superb with Kajal and very entertaining also. Mahesh Babu's voice over also one of the highlight here. Brahmanandam is very funny as Inspector Padmanabha Simha. He is also a major asset for the film. Brahmanandam outlook with NTR and Nasser are really awesome. Sreenu Vaitla concept from is really appreciable.

M.S. Narayana is wonderful as the film director Revenge Nageswara Rao. He will definitely make you laugh. M.S. Narayana almost takes comedy in the first half. Kajal entertains every one. She looks stunning in the movie. Suhasini also good here. Navdeep has done glowing as villain. Hero Siddarth also acted here. But he has a very small role. But very crucial role in the film. Nasser is valuable as the harsh police officer. The second half of the film is combo of complete entertainment. Overall movie is good.

Baadshsh - a good entertainer.. but...
amruthvvkp7 April 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Though the movie starts with a good pace, it is just another mass entertainer. With so many twists and tales, it looks like the director is still in the hangover of Dookudu.

With some romantic songs, Junior NTR's electrifying fight sequences, MS Narayana's comedy, Mahesh Babu's voice-over keep you engaged in the first half. But it is the second half which is a joy ride for you.

Though NTR's and Brahmi's performances are good, baadshah has a lot of traces of Dookudu. The on screen chemistry is also good. Jr NTR delivers a commendable performance and shows perfect comic timing. Baadshah is a treat for all his fans.Director Sreenu Vaitla's narrative is smooth, but certain comedy scenes look stretched.

It has some good comic scenes, dance sequences... if you want to enjoy this movie, forget Dookudu completely. Any trace of it will leave you completely bored. Overall, Baadshah would be a light movie to catch after a hard day's work.

A typical masala movie
Abdulxoxo20 December 2020
This film is over the top, just like its protagonist. The flow of the movie is horrendous, the narrative style didn't suit movie, it makes it somewhat convoluted, and by the time things started to unravelled, and twists are revealed it's already turned to a one big joke of a movie.

The plot is pretty tedious with an extremely unoriginal screenplay. It takes this wearisome vehicle a significant amount of time to develop the plot. To make matters worse, there are some forced comedy scenes which test your patience. As usual, the first half is full of comedy and romance which are never established properly. In fact, they seem pretty disjointed and slow down the pace. The fun moments are mostly few and far between. The second half does evoke some interest but it quickly becomes too dull.

The soundtrack is nothing extraordinary as well, there's only one or two songs that actually got my attention. But the locations and costumes and choreography of the music videos are handled well.

The performances tho are good; NTR jr, did a good job at the lead role as per usual, but I'm not a fan of his hairstyle in the first half of the movie. Kagal Agarwal is typecasted as the typical love interest. Brahmanandam and Ms Narayanan did their usual comedy antics. The villains are clichèd and typecasted as well.

All in all, Baadsha is a very typical masala movie, with the usual mix of action and humorous dialogue that only succeeds partially and romance thrown in randomly at places. But nevertheless it entertains, and that's what matters at the end.

Can be way better??
debomitabasu3 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
See I am a critic but also huge fan of Jr. NTr for many reasons ... Being a hardcore fan I feel this baadsha can be way better.. First of all I personally don't like climax scenes quite boring unnecessary over the top which gives u nothing.. Kajal was wasted dunno have idea why she has been nomianted in SIIMA 2014 .. NTR's acting is okay seems that he has been forcefully used in this film .

But Brahmandam was fantastic in his acting amd goons scenes are quite convincing emotional too.. bro death scene blah blah overall it will give u macho project..

But in terms of acting , direction it may be quite better I feel.. a different from Dookudu.. A stylish modernised but below average boring Overall I won't recommend u to watch this film.. NTR is brilliant oscar predicted actor so I will request to watch better film s like RRr Np, JG Yamadonga but u can easily avoid Badshah..

Cool and Complete eNterTaineR in hot summer
ankubabunadendla7 April 2013
Story: Saadhu Bhai(Kelly Dorjee) is a dangerous mafia don who runs an illegal empire with the help of his close aides in Ranjan(Mukesh Rishi). Baadshah(NTR) is the aggressive son of Ranjan and he is the emerging force in the underworld. As time passes by, Baadshah becomes hugely popular and decides to take on the mighty Saadhu Bhai. An upset Sadhu Bhai now decides to kill Baadshah. This is also the time when the terrorist attacks planned by Saadhu in India enter an operational phase. Baadshah, who is strictly against Saadhu Bhai, also moves to India to stop his evil deeds. Why does Baadshah go against Saadhu Bhai? How does he manage to tackle Saadhu Bhai's plans ? Whose help does he take to fulfill his mission? That forms the rest of the story. Positive Points: Baadshah is an out and out Srinu Vytla film. There is action, romance, thrill and most importantly lots of comedy in the film. It's a tailor made role for NTR, who plays his part perfectly in 3 characters portrayed throughout at different times. He acts, fights, dances and looks like a true Baadshah. His fans will simply love him in this role which has multiple shades. They will get to see him in a stylized role in the first half, and a boy next door in the second. NTR manages to bring compete difference to both his characters and looks very convincing. A pro in dancing, NTR has done an awesome job in that department. Kajal Agarwal, gets a meatier role and plays her part exceptionally well. She looks beautiful. Kajal gets lots of footage in the first half devoted to her. She just goes through the motion where as the dubbing takes care of the punches. She was given simple moments to dance and she did well with those. Brahmanandam however was the show stealer here with his performance taking the film to an all time high in the second half of the film.

Music by SS Thaman is good and is already a huge success before release itself. They have been picturised well on screen with each song containing a fabulous moment of dance by Jr NTR. The background score is inconsistent, its good at times but is also noisy at times.

An interesting medley featuring Sr NTR's songs will be loved by the audience tremendously. First half of the movie is stylish, where as the second half is completely entertaining. Songs are a major plus and have been shot lavishly. The title song which showcases NTR as Baadshah is the one to watch out for. Negative Points: In spite of having tremendous entertainment, Baadshah has a flavor of all of Srinu Vytla's old films. If the last 10 minutes in the first half should have trimmed off to maintain that pace to go on. The pre-interval and interval feel of absolutely carelessness carries in the beginning of the second half too till the characters of Nazar and Brahmanandam are introduced. M S Narayana's comedy is just about OK and the story for obvious reasons looks familiar to SrinuVaitla's previous films. Technical Aspects: Baadshah is rich on technical values. Music is foot tapping. Banti Poola Janaki and the title song Baadshah look very stylish and the item song 'Kanakam' and Rangoli will be a feast for the masses. Dialogues ad punches are typical Srinu Vytla style and have been used effectively. Action sequences have been choreographed well, especially the opening fight. One can say that Srinu Vytla has once again succeeded in making a decent family entertainer which promises loads of fun right till the end. Time and again, he proved that entertainment is what the viewer looks for, and he delivers it in abundance. Screenplay of the movie is apt and has been handled well in the second half. Camera-work is decent and show cases NTR stylishly. All the foreign locations have been captured well and the entire movie has been richly shot. Bandla Ganesh's production values are a major asset as he not compromised with the look of the film. Verdict: On the whole, Baadshah is a super feast for all NTR fans. A stylish looking NTR and some hilarious comedy is a major asset for this film. Go watch this film with your complete family as Baadshah is a breath of cool air in this hot and humid summer. A Must Watch.

Whole Package of entertainer
sidhuy9 April 2013
There is the Jr NTR factor no doubt but the episodes like Dream Machine, Justice Chowdary, the Ladies dance for Senior NTR songs are what the authentic Telugu family audience looks for. In fact, the Sr NTR songs bit is not on par with Antyakshari scene of Gabbar Singh as predicted. And Vaitla has delivered it in a platter. Due credit must be given to NTR for the way he merged into his character and it was clear that he was hungry to prove a point.

As such, the film takes off on a monotonous note and there seemed to be an issue with the coloring as it appeared dull and few shades were pale. The regular scenes and the interval bang were all predictable. But the total mood gets elevated in the second half and it is a roller coaster ride of laughter in many places. If only Vaitla can start working on improvising the action, drama episodes then he will be on his way to give Tollywood's number 1 blockbuster. Highlights

Second half : Brahmanandam Comedy N T Rama Rao's song medley Drawbacks : First half Routine plot

Baadshah of Tollywood
gautham_chowdari10 September 2013
First half of the film is good and stylish.

Second half is entertaining the moment Brahmanandam's character is introduced film gets more entertaining.

Plus points of the film are NTR and the entertainment in the second half.

On the flip side, the effective scenes of the cause which turns Rama Rao into Baadshah would have made this film emotionally gripping.

On a whole, Baadshah is a film that serves you with Seenu Vytla kind of entertainment using NTR and Brahmanandam in an effective way. NTR has got a film with good box office potential.
