Life is a gamble
darisraris1 October 2022
This series is about gambling, but not only about betting. It's about family, friendship, relationships, life and death. It's also about the flawed human nature and how chance interferes with the choices we make. The setting is quite nostalgic, but makes you realise how far society has come in the last thirty years, particularly in the world of match fixing. It's also a good reminder to continue this work and to personally always try to better ourselves before it's too late. The only thing I feel it lacked was addressing some other dark sides of gambling, like addiction and animal welfare issues.

Great pilot

What an inspiring start - seemingly effortless character development and, most of the time, a good historical account.

Our protagonist begins his life as an able athlete - close to elite level. Various turns of life leads his path away from a sporting career into the world of gambling. Once there he is slowly being lured, seduced, into less savoury methods of improving his odds...

This is one of the better pilot episodes, of any series, for a long time. Future episodes will determine the end result.

Spelskandalen is off a great start and appears well worth a bet...
