Living with the enemy
Tweekums12 October 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Having moved into the house of Jack Turner, Sam continues to try to find out exactly how he is involved in the bid for the Pakistani dam. Her mission is confused when team member Hasan, who was involved in the mock kidnapping of Turner's grandson, is captured and brought to the house. Sam is ordered to eliminate him before he can be tortured into giving details of who he is or about the mysterious 'Byzantium Group' they all work for. She goes to fulfil her mission but stops when he says he has information about a mole in the group and the plot to kill her. Meanwhile somebody has shot and killed an old friend of Sam's and when she goes to the scene the same man attacks her. If that wasn't enough the mysterious Horst Goebel has arrived in London and handed a briefcase to Turner; nobody knows what is in it but Byzantium are keen to find out.

This was a pretty solid second episode although I'm still unsure whether the series will be good over all; I suspect it will all be down to how things are explained at the end… everything is still a mystery at the moment; we don't even know for sure if Byzantium are good or bad… they certainly operate outside the law. There is some fairly gruelling action in this episode including a torture scene that is fairly brutal for a TV show, a woman being shot in such a way that the blinds end up painted red with blood and a fight between Sam and a man that looked pretty rough. That fight was rather refreshing; too often in such series the female action hero easily defeats her male assailant despite him being bigger; here it looked as if she could lose and she ended up battered and bruised. I'm enjoying the mystery and look forward to some revelations; I just hope when we get them they aren't cliché or far fetched.

your typical paranoid series

Chicken little syndrome by the writers and producers ... the brits lead the way in stinko crap dealing with spies ... the protagonist is a one way street to death and destruction ... she'd put james bond to shame ... its not about the money which is always the reason for such savageness ... but greed takes a holiday while revenge is in the air
