As this episode opens we see a business function where a company is celebrating a deal with a Chinese company; all but one person present is happy. He doesn't want to sell the company's revolutionary microchip, which he invented, to the Chinese; especially when he learns that they plan to use it for missile technology. To prevent them getting it he steals the prototype and gets Frank to transport is to Geneva. It won't be an easy job though; he injects the tiny chip into Frank's neck then tells him that any attempt to remove it will cause it to release a fatal dose of poison and if it isn't taken out in twelve hours it will release the poison
he reassures Frank that the person he delivers it to will have the antidote. After a slight delay at the Swiss border he gets to Geneva and finds that the person due to receive the chip considers him to be a loose end and refuses to give him the antidote
Frank now has a race against time to find somebody who can safely remove it without triggering the poison or find the man who put it there and get the antidote from him.
The twelve hour time limit gives a sense of urgency even though Frank doesn't know whether or not the device really contains poison or if he was just told that to prevent him from taking it out. Since that provides the urgency we don't get the usual car chases in this episode; that obviously saved some of the budget for the hire of the yellow Lamborghini that the villain drives this features in a brief chase and thankfully isn't damaged! There are a few fights, including a clifftop confrontation at the end which acrophobics might find disturbing. Away from the main story we get some amusing moments; Frank has a run in with an officious Swiss border guard who is concerned that he might have meat in his car and after that every time he tells people he was delayed at the border they mention their concern about meat. We also get an amusing side story where Dieter calls a radio talk show and is worried when the person on the show promises to pay him a visit! Overall a rather fun episode that managed to keep things tense without a huge amount of action.
