This is truly dreadful
shuswapgirl2 April 2023
Do not fall for those 10/10 reviews - they are from the Sussex fan club and do not reflect the truth.

I agree with a previous reviewer that this is self-indulgence on the part of the host disguised at motivational help for women.

Markle seems to think her limited life experience as a suitcase girl makes her the ultimate feminist, but with every episode she shows us that her only concern is to speak over every guest and present her opinion as fact.

A true feminist is concerned with helping elevate other women, like Serena does but Markle does not. MM is more concerned with elevating herself.

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this convo discussion and it makes you ponder and think about these words that are used lightly but have deep rooted hurt and unfortunately have become part of our vernacular.

Women have been subjected to these hit below the belt archetype words as to demean them if they are successful, educated and have self confidence. Women are deemed difficult if they have a great work ethic, needless to say men is not envisaged in the same light according to Serena. I happy that Meghan has illuminated this convo which can be start for each of us to be accountable for the way we interact with others, and to question our thought process if these derogatory words come to the surface of our mind if a woman is ambitious.

Self Indulgent
guthriems-087642 April 2023
One of the most self indulgent podcasts ever. No real attention paid to any real dialogue. If you're looking for serious discussion, this isn't it. Trivial and no insight from a patently vacuous and, on this subject, ill informed host. I use the word 'host' lightly, as MM seemed focussed entirely on herself. I have no idea who this series is supposed to be targetted at, and what it's supposed to be saying. Even the title is misleading, she appears to be referencing 'stereotypes' not archetypes. If the host doesn't understand the difference, then there's no hope is there? Spotify - shame on you.

Interesting discussion about ambition
aliciaakuajohnson12 November 2022
Sure most women even in the year 2022 could relate to the discussion about double standards applied to women & men in relation to ambition. Even now when they say a woman is ambitious it denotes calculating, must have an agenda etc in a way that doesn't happen with men where it is seen as a positive attribute.

It also jumped out how this impacted the GOAT. Serena Williams talking about difference in how her passion is perceived and even punished compared to male players on the circuit was everything.

Really enjoyed the expert input from Dr Kray.

A good start to Archetypes & shows how relevant these discussions are.

No substance
buttery-018812 April 2023
Poor offering full of vapid and tired complaints. Nothing new. Not worth watching. The issues discussed were new about 60 years ago, and have been addressed successfully in the years since. I could not find anything in the whole podcast that had depth or value, or would help any women succeed. It was shallow talk, by an apparently shallow woman who has nothing relevant to offer except word salad. It is disappointing that she is being given a platform when she has nothing to say that can add positively to the lives of women and girls. It seems like Spotify have been dazzled by her duchess title, and are now finding out she has nothing to say.

Great début!

I love the format of the podcast. Meghan's intro of the topic by sharing bits & piece of her life, then her open, friendly chat with her guests... I'm not a fan of podcast although I like audiobooks. My support of Meghan's ventures made me listen and the quality, format & open talk made me stay.

Even if you dislike Meghan, you can look past her and pay attention to the mysogynistic tropes women from the past, present have to endure.

Serena was a breath of fresh & epitome of ambitious, resilient, never give up woman. She's also a mother, an entrepreneur and a great friend.

Kudos to her to make people openly talk about all those archetypes.

ME ME ME
susanbaxter-623902 April 2023
What a lot of mentions about how very close friends the guest and MeGain are..not. The poor interview performance was boring for listeners and I guess people would turn off very quickly. The way that the lousy comparison between experiences as women dealing with traumas was made wss excrutiatingly embarassing. MeGain wants the podcast to only reflect her experiences. She really should not have a plstform to play victim. The irony of it all. Serena should call her out for having her to interview in this. I know no more about Serena or her views than when I tuned in. MeGain is so fake. Spotify should be ashamed of this!

Excellent for all ages
wkjdance2 April 2023
The initiative by the Duchess of Sussex Meghan, is a generous one.

The themes are very well thought and of relevance to the active person but more so it is very inspiring to start taking action towards self care and believing in your own power. No matter what phase or what age you are.

Excellent podcast!

It is highly recommended to use in classrooms and at universities for discussions and studies on self awareness of the power of self.

Meghan in a very spontaneous way interacts with the guests and the conversations reflects much respect towards each other and appreciation of them being themselves.

Small Talk
maritameerola2 April 2023
Host had not done the homework - the guest's career has so far been huge and all I heard was minutia and trying the sweet "girl talk" with a professional grown up woman. The guest would have had a lot of ambition stories to tell, but instead we had to listen to the host to tell their version of their everyday challenges. It is shocking how talented and motivated people are not given a chance to prove themselves and The podcast was so thin it is really hard to call it a podcast and I am really struggling to write a review. I must say I have listened to the whole season but I am not wasting my time in writing about them.

What are friends for
webee-041762 April 2023
Nothing revelatory about either their friendship or indeed ambition. I wanted more about the challenges they faced in their respective roles but all we got was something that might have been a filler article in a popular magazine. There's been a recurring theme throughout these podcasts, not enough time given to the guests. I felt we only skirted the topic and whilst it seemed like a conversation two people might have in a coffee shop, that's not what I give up my valuable time to listen to. A missed opportunity here. By the end my ambition was to shut down the audio and never ever listen again.

Where is Serena?
jayprodesign3 April 2023
This episode was about Serena Williams struggles for acceptance, besides for a brief opening response the first 8 minutes was MEgan this, MEgan that. Serena got in a few sentences before it was back to MEgan. I wanted to hear Serena discuss her childhood, how she succeeded in the competitive Tennis world, basically dominating the sport like no other. I learned less in the hour than the typical match snippet, like those of the Olympic athletes.

A wasted hour, MEgan's voice is not easy to listen to but it was 3/4 host talking, 1/4 guest talking. Very little polish, character, or plot. The typical youtube blogger is working solo and produces a couple of episodes per week. Here a team of 20 spent weeks putting out this drivel.
