Or perhaps an English language tele-novella, since much of the dialogue seems like Google translations of decades-old TV. I tried, I wanted to like it, but (in spite of it being written and directed by its lead actor) I found myself unable to guess what the motivation was to make this amalgam of abduction tropes and cliches. Maybe someone saw the success of the X-Files, and thought they could hit the same mark without cast chemistry, wit, or convincing dialogue and plot. Some in the cast, perhaps most, could act if given proper material, but this production consistently asks for "bricks without straw," which few can get past.
Unlike other turkeys (Theodore Rex, anyone?), it isn't even accidentally funny.

What Is This? Do Not Waste Your Time

This was the most boring , pointless 90+ minutes I've spent watching anything in quite a while. It didn't even meet up to the horrible alien found footage movies (which it most certainly is not, by the way) standards that are set by terrible movies. There's really no aliens. There's nothing but talking about cases and dialogue between 'doctors'. I spent the whole time trying to figure out the POINT of the movie and when it ended I was perplexed by the fact that there was no point. 2/10.
Only the Topic held my Interest

The acting and timing of the actors was horid -- mildly resembling a high school play -- only worse. The script was not terribly original and seemed to mirror the lifew of John Mack. I'm not sure what was worse -- my watching the first one; or, my wanting to watch the sequel. I'm sure I'll fast forward through the second one. I fear that I'd rather cut my eyeballs with paper than subject them to another hour and a half of Dr. Milgram.
Perhaps in 2012 when this was produced, the topic of alien abduction was less popular and not as represented in the fictional arts. I certainly wish that this production had been more professionally produced. Too many cliches and hyperbolic reactions scripted to result in a meaningful or joyful viewing experience.

Finally brought realism
