Unusual Methods

There are a number of things that are both good and questionable here. First of all, Longmire ignores his feelings and follows the law. Branch's old man is about as disgusting as a human being can be. He actually used a shotgun in a retirement facility. If Longmire wanted to really follow the law, the guy should have been imprisoned. All that aside, we know from the start that a bear is involved in the death of a horrible, heartless murderer. But sorting through it all becomes a chore. The final scene, for me, is really over the top and I thought it was drama for drama's sake. This is two episodes in a row where a serious threat to life leads to a solution.

Longmire- "The Worst Kind of Hunter"

My wife and I write these stream of consciousness "reviews".

8 -stars. All our reviews begin with 8 stars.

We wonder why it is Ferg is so jumpy and is alarmed by bird calls?

Yuck. Ferg puked on his revolver.

Only in Wyoming can a person discharge a deadly weapon inside a public building and not be charged with a felony, right?

Bears hooked on meth. Not good.

Wasn't Ed Crowley that guy who chased ghosts?

Great Story- Bear Waffles really added to story!

I love the Longmire show, I believe it really hits at a part of America that still exists, but you don't really see it unless it is represented in this type of show. I really liked the twists and turns of this episode. Although I figured who had done it about half way through. It really hits home though concerning our economy, and how people are being cut out of their occupation because of cutbacks and or forced retirement. Longmire demonstrates not only the ache that middle aged people feel at the loss of a loved one, but also how sometime the younger generation is always looking for weakness so that they can move in on the leader, like Branch is always trying to do. The biggest star to me in the show this time (everyone agrees) was Waffles the bear. I am not sure if he was a real bear like Bertha was in Grizzly Adams,or just a Computer Generated Image, but Waffles stole the show. It was wonderful just seeing a her/him in the show. There are only 1,400 Grizzlies in the US right now and seeing Waffles just really added a tremendous side to the story. I gave the show a 10 for the cast of characters as well as the bear.

Warning: Spoilers
Hitchcoc, actually you are incorrect. Branch's old man is Barlow Connelly, NOT Lucian. Lucian (who was in the retirement home in question) was in fact his Uncle. The Connelly family has major money so it is not far fetched that they would make a donation to make the trouble go away so that Lucian could continue his stay there. Id consider that to be pretty lifelike actually. Lucian is still a far better man than Barlow who does the unthinkable to his own son without missing a beat. 😂 The whole family is extremely dysfunctional and it gives a lot more depth and understanding as to the character of Branch. Cant help but feel sorry for him. As for this particular episode itself, you cant help but respect the episode. It is not hard to understand how they get to the whodunit of it, just follow along with the plot Peter does an excellent job directing.

Longmire the detective

Warning: Spoilers
So with several suspects available for the murder, Longmire somehow pins it on the previous warden of the prison that the victim was released from. I may have missed something, but didn't see how Longmire came to that conclusion. Anyone else confused by this deduction? Otherwise it was a decent episode.
