Max and Caroline are creeped out to learn the old Indian dude who lived up stairs from them croaked a couple of weeks earlier learning of the death as the coroner removes the body.
Given the location it is not too long before the vacancy is filled but Max and Caroline have immediate difficulties with the statuesque Polish woman - Sofi Kachinsky (Jennifer Coolidge) who has moved in. Not only does she play Bee Gees music into the early hours of the morning, and walk hard on the floors but she appears to be running a bordello.
Our heroines are in no position to complain as they are in an illegally sublet apartment which they too are operating a business out of. They opt to attempt to befriend her in hopes she will curb her excesses whilst ignoring the illegality of their own status.
After several flubbed attempts to make nice including one in which it becomes apparent they think Madam Kachinsky is running a brothel they finally figure out that she is really running a home cleaning service only after she feels stung by their glaring mistake.
Jennifer Coolidge is funny in the right role (Stifler's mom for instance) and this is the kind of turn she might be able to get laughs from though her Polish accent doesn't sound authentic. But the show already has its funny ethnic characters which include Max and Caroline's boss at the diner as well as the chef who works there. It makes me wonder where the narrative is going.
Once again Max hints at her bisexuality making a comment about having a thing for The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.
