The Dead Want Women
Stars: Eric Roberts, Jessica Morris, Ariana Madix, Jean Louise O’Sullivan, J. Scott, Robert Zachar | Written by Charles Band, Kent Roudebush | Directed by Charles Band
The Dead Want Women, don’t we all? Well obviously not like they do or it would be quite illegal and questionable in nature. Full Moon Entertainment give us yet another tale of horror and gore, with 88 Films giving the film a release in the United Kingdom that it may or may not deserve. The fact is though it’s quite a watchable film and when they are releasing so many classics there is space for film like this that have definite quality issues if it also means we also get the better quality ones too.
In the “roaring twenties” Rose Pettigrew is the star of the silent movies and at the top of her game; then the talkies take over.

One of my favourite UK distributors, ranking up there with Arrow Video and Shameless, are 88 Films. The company, whilst relatively new to the UK scene, have hit the ground running – releasing a handful of fantastic 80s horror flicks to DVD, including: Tourist Trap, Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-a-Rama and The Pit and the Pendulum.
Well now the good folks at 88 Films have announced their next batch of Full Moon titles set for DVD (and also Blu-Ray, yes!) in July and August. Streeting on July 30th is The Dead Want Women and following on August 20th is the original Puppet Master movie – and not only is it being released on DVD it’s also coming on Blu-ray too!

Director: Charles Band. Writers: Charles Band and Kent Roudebush. Cast: Jessica Morris, Ariana Madix and Eric Roberts This reviewer visibly cringed when he read the title on the latest parcel to enter the 28Dla offices. The package was from Full Moon Pictures and the film inside was The Dead Want Women. So, immediately, you know you are in b-movie territory. Despite director Charles Band's 200+ filmography, he is essentially known, to this reviewer, as producing films that are meant to titillate male audiences (and some females). The barest of plots inhabit films such as Evil Bong and Killer Eye: Halloween Haunt. And The Dead Want Women is no different. In the film's defence, the early scenes seem well rehearsed and the characterizations seemed thought out. However, it is a downhill slide from here on out. In the first ten minutes, there is a simulated sex scene involving two flapper girls...

I’m of the unpopular opinion that every motion picture with a budget under one million dollars should contain zombies, naked women, and Eric Roberts. And if you wish to have Eric Roberts portray a zombie, then you automatically get worldwide distribution. Charles Band seems to understand this formula, as his upcoming direct-to-video opus “The Dead Want Women” includes all of the aforementioned requirements. Hey, at least it doesn’t have puppets. I think. The official synopsis reads something like this: Beginning at a stylish mansion in the roaring 1920′s, a socialite, flappers, and the men who love them come to their ultimate demise. These ghosts continue to haunt the mansion throughout the decade. Now they’ve come back to haunt and chase after a new generation of beautiful girls. In addition to Roberts, B-movie fanatics also receive performances from Jessica Morris, Ariana Madix, and Jean Louise O’Sullivan. I...

'Puppet Master: The Legacy' and 'The Gingerdead Man' helmer Charles Band is back with another supernatural horror for Full Moon Pictures. 'The Dead Want Women' stars hottie Jessica Morris (below) who you may recall getting topless in Paul Rudd and Sean William Scott comedy 'Role Models' a few years back. Oh and not to mention another boobies out scenario in the not-so-funny Nick Weisee comedy 'Senior Skip Day' the same year. Joining Morris is Ariana Madix, Jean Louise O'Sullivan, J. Scott, Robert Zachar and Mr b-movie himself Eric Roberts ('The Dark Knight', 'Sharktopus'). 'The Dead Want Women', which Band also co-scripted with Kent Roudebush ('Killer Eye: Halloween Haunt'), is set for a DVD and VOD release from 15 May. Check out the trailer below....

Charles Band is putting the puppets away for Full Moon’s newest horror thriller. Instead this is a tale of zombies – horny zombies. When Eric Roberts rises from the grave, it can only mean The Dead Want Women.
Jessica Morris (“One Life to Live”) and Ariana Madix (Killer Eye: Halloween Haunt) are the women the dead want in Charles Band’s The Dead Want Women.
Synopsis:
Beginning at a stylish mansion in the roaring 1920's, a socialite, flappers, and the men who love them come to their ultimate demise. These ghosts continue to haunt the mansion throughout the decade. Now they've come back to haunt and chase after a new generation of beautiful girls.
The dead include Eric Roberts, whom you will see in the trailer below back from the dead with the face of rotting yam.
The Dead Want Women is slotted for DVD/VOD release on May 15th.

Charles Band has been rolling out the reveals of the four new fascist puppet terrors to make their debut in the upcoming Puppet Master X: Axis Rising. The fourth and final new addition is named WereMacht, and I hope for Band’s sake Rob Zombie doesn’t come looking for a royalty check.
So far we’ve had the Kaiser-helmeted panzer tank puppet Blitzkrieg, the Ilsa, She-Wolf of the SS-inspired puppet Bombshell, and the 1940’s racist Japanese stereotype Kamikaze, and completing this axis of marionette evil is WereMacht. Scroll down further for a good look at the little werewolf in a Nazi uniform.
Now all we need is an actual Puppet Master X: Axis Rising movie to begin production. I assume that’s next on the Full Moon agenda once they finish production on The Dead Want Women.

Full Moon Entertainment continues to prep for Puppet Master X: Axis Rising by revealing yet another new scarionette, but first Charles Band will bring us something not starring killer puppets or other assorted puppet-sized terrors: an audacious zombie flick starring Eric Roberts.
Entitled The Dead Want Women and directed by Charles Band, the film stars Roberts, Ariana Madix (Killer Eye: Halloween Haunt), Jean-Louise O’Sullivan (Gingerdead Man 3), Circus Szalewski (Evil Bong 3D) and Jessica Morris (Dangerous Worry Dolls). The story begins at an elegant mansion during the 1920′s; a socialite, flappers, and the men who love them come to their ultimate demise, but their ghosts continue to haunt the mansion throughout the decade. Now they’ve come back to haunt and chase after a fresh generation of beautiful girls.
