Frank opens his bar
Tweekums19 September 2012
Warning: Spoilers
This episode opens with a couple of taxi drivers stumbling upon a lorry load of booze that has gone off the road in the snow; they help themselves to as much as they can load into their vehicle and offer it to Frank claiming that they got it from another bar that went bankrupt. What they don't know is that it belonged to a biker gang and they are determined to get it back. Frank meanwhile is getting closer to Sigrid; the attractive blonde teacher he first met on the train then 'arranged' to teach the class that helps immigrants integrate into Norwegian society. It isn't long before he attracts the attention of police officer Geir 'Elvis' Tvedt... not because his illicit booze or because of his blackmailing a public official though... he has seen Frank associating with a Muslim classmate and fears he may be a wanted Al Qaida terrorist!

After the previous introductory episode this series quickly gets into its stride here; Frank's character is developing nicely as we see him continue his un-Norwegian ways; with further blackmail, encouraging Sigrid's bullied son to fight back and confronts the Muslim classmate who refuses to shake hands with his female teacher. The drama was nicely mixed with comedy; the scene where he 'questions' one of the bikers by launching him off the ski-jump was both funny and menacing and the police thinking he might be Al Qaida is just hilarious. It still seems a little odd that Frank seems to understand Norwegian perfectly but continues to speak only English but in some ways that just adds to the amusement.
