Here Comes the Judge (to be thrown out) ***1/2
edwagreen14 December 2011
Warning: Spoilers
The judge agreed with the defense that the conviction was wrong, but is unable to go along with declaring a mistrial since he needs more evidence. The evidence shown in the end is quite ironic and to say the least, the judge should have known better.

That being said, this is again another good episode as the theme is using your power. We see this in the intimidation by Peter Florrick of the head mistress of the private school. He will never accept the accuse that there is no room for his children in the school, and he shows that he can play a mean game of vengeance against all-concerned.

Florrick may have made a big mistake in appointing Wendy to investigate Peter. Apparently, this loser to him in the last election, may very well turn the tables on Mr. Florrick.

This is the second straight episode that Christine Baranski really shows her mettle. This woman is assertive, is taking a more active role at the trials, and shows that besides academics, she is street smart to the core.

Alicia and Kalinda reconcile. Warning: Spoilers
What Went Wrong? examines the humorous element of politics involved in applying the law. The viewer is well aware that the defendant did not murder her husband. Emotionally we support the efforts by the Lockhart & Gardner team to challenge the guilty verdict. Ironically Lockhart & Gardner violates the law several ways as they pursue righting this wrong verdict. Cary Agos respects detective Kalinda Sharma as the greatest threat to uncover reasons for having the guilty verdict overturned. After warning Kalinda not to harass jury members Cary catches her doing just that and starts having Kalinda moved from jail to jail so Lockhart & Gardner is no longer a threat to get the case overturned. Alicia Florrick had been Kalinda's best friend right up to point that Alicia learned that Kalinda had had an affair with Peter Florrick. From then on Alicia had nothing at all to do with Kalinda. In this episode Alicia learns that it was Kalinda who found Grace when Alicia feared the worst for her daughter. Kalinda asked Grace never to tell Alicia that Kalinda had come to her rescue. "I don't like mess" Kalinda explains to Alicia. Alicia goes out of her way to thank Kalinda who proceeds to help discover a valid reason for a mistrial to be declared. Once again a great script complimented by great actors creates another great episode of The Good Wife.
