A masterclass in suspense!

This episode has got me so emotionally involved that myself & my daughter were both yelling at the TV in support of the 'good guys'!

There's a nice balance between what the viewer knows, what the characters know, what Idris Elba is planning, with no idea where the scriptwriters are taking us.

It also got me thinking, what would I actually do as an ordinary passenger in that situation? As much as I'd like to think I'd be Idris Elba, in reality I know I'd do very little but would want to do something or contribute in some way. This is what I liked best about this episode. As much as it is about the leading characters doing heroic stuff, its equally about ordinary passengers playing their part with very small acts of heroism, doing things that I could have done.

Nice cliff hanger ending too.

Warning: Spoilers
The scenes on the ground were a little boring and stilted tonight, even with the great Archie Panjabi finally getting some decent screen time and a chance to showcase her character. They went with some comedy involving the secretary and her mail aide carrying her heels, but that fell on deaf eras.

But the scenes in the sky were good and we finally got a little bit of violence and fighting tonight. I think we do need someone to bite the bullet (no pun intended) in episode four though, or it will be hard to takes these hijackers seriously, after everything that has gone on from the passengers already.

Hijack is really working the tension and suspense. It is Alice Sinclair (Eve Myles) who puts together what is happening with the Kingdom flight. Once she arrives to work late.

No one else wondered that things did not add up. A false alarm combined with a text from a passenger.

Sam Nelson is slyly manipulating events. He has the captain taken away from the cockpit but when they need to sign in to the countries that the plane is flying over. The captain of the plane needs to be there. Sam also finds a way to communicate with him.

Meanwhile one of the passengers who is ex military believes that the guns the terrorists have are not real. A few of the passengers want to take them on.

There was one think that the terrorists did not plan for. Toilet breaks, food, drink and medication. You would think if a guy needs insulin they would allow that to be taken.

There was a lot of see sawing in this episode. The passengers are on the brink of grabbing the initiative. In London the government is almost getting their act together. The Foreign secretary did not inspire much confidence though.

How long will it take?

Yes, still nothing, nothing at all...I am still waiting since the first episode, since the pirates aboard the Airbus showed their guns.... I am astonished, wiped out, by the fact that no one among those idiots - passengers I mean - no one wonderss how the pirates did to bring those guns aboard the plane? They discuss, discuss, discuss, they wonder if the bullets are blank or not? OK, good question, but I think it would be more important to know how, how, how could they so easily bring guns into the plane? It is so incredible that no one asks about this question.... So, I don't know how long it will take before we at last know how.... But by the end of the previous episode, maybe there was a beginning of explanation.... I hope we'll find out later, to confirm.
