Sex & Nudity

  • The film has a dialogue scene between Cade, his daughter Tessa and her boyfriend Shane. Cade expresses his anger that Tessa is technically a minor and Shane is an adult. Shane then explains Texas' Romeo and Juliet Laws pertaining to pre-existing juvenile relationship, meaning they started going out when they were both minors. He has a copy of the law in his wallet which is shown in closeup. Parents may have to explain this scene to younger children if they watch this film.
  • Two women are shown walking across the street in tight clothing, short shorts.
  • Camera view switches to behind the daughters butt/legs, then a man says that "I think she looks hot" and that she's a "hot teenager" and the other man becomes angry.
  • A man describes movies from an earlier time where there were "dancing girls with big cha-chas."
  • During a car chase scene, a guy makes some sexual humor. He tells the girl to grab his stick, says "she has the best hands in the business" talking about his gear shifter.
  • Some kissing

Violence & Gore

  • When Cade and Savoy fight, it gets to the point where Cade gouges Savoy's eye and only stops when Savoy screams in pain and is slammed into the ground.
  • A man fried by a robot's grenade may scare younger kids.
  • Level of violence:7.5/10.
  • Many scenes of intense robot action occur intermittently throughout the film. Explosions, shrapnel and carnage are frequent. The robots often "bleed" mechanical fluids. Some robots are shot in the head, or impaled by swords through the chest.
  • Early in the film one of the human 'good guys' is killed in a large explosion; there are several lingering shots of the charred remains of this body (still stood up, mid-run), coated in places with metal. Some camera angles show the body still on fire.
  • A human character late in the film is killed via a laser blast to the chest. A large burn mark is seen. Two men fight briefly and then a man throws another man out the window to his death. Another brief hand to hand combat between a women and two men. A guy from the elevator helps out.

Profanity

  • 1 use of "fuck", 9 uses of "shit", 18 uses of "ass", 1 use of "asshole", 1 use of "smartass", 13 uses of "hell", 2 uses of "son of a bitch", 6 uses of "bitch", 1 use of "bastards", 1 use of "goddamn", 3 uses of "damn". A lot for a PG13 rating.
  • 2 uses of the f word. 1 bleeped and one full and clear use of it "How do you say get the f*** out of the way in Chinese?" (said by Joshua Joyce)
  • A lot of uses of "ass", "shit", "bitch" and "crap" words.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • One character is stoned in every scene he's in
  • Cade is an alcoholic
  • A teen girl talks about high school being nearly over and says that, "Soon we can get a tan and get wasted."
  • A man drinks a beer.
  • A teen girl brings her father dinner that includes a bottle of beer (we do not see him drink).
  • A truck load of beer bottles is strewn on the ground after a crash and one man grabs a bottle and opens it before taking a drink.
  • A robot looks like he has a lit cigar in his mouth for the majority of the movie.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A character's death by grenade is upsetting.
  • For tweens/teens.
  • The scenes of robot action tend to be quite long and graphic.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • Lockdown kills Ratchet
  • After an extended chase down the side of an apartment building, the hero pushes one of the villains through a window, sending him plummeting to his death. We see his body violently land on a metal awning with a loud sound effect.
  • The heroes all have to use physical violence to settle conflict, and the film frames this as necessary and heroic. This includes the Transformer hero Optimus Prime shooting both human and robot villains.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Ratchet is killed by lockdown and other footage of previous films shot its is briefly watched by the group of humans and transformers, lockdowns ship is vary with robot dogs and other aliens, the dinobots could be seen as scary and Optimus is impaled near the end (not lethally just to pin him against a wall) this could upset younger viewers o also they destroy a city like normal for these bots, overall this film does have a lot of destruction.
  • A lot of mayhem and destruction in the movie's climax, including civilians being thrown out of flying vehicles, running away screaming, buildings and vehicles being destroyed, lots of fast editing and aggressive sound effects.
