An episode to keep you wanting more...!
whatt122 January 2012
POI just gets better and better...or maybe because I prefer character development over strictly procedural stories. This episode in particular had a lot of main character interactions.

The stand-alone story was as interesting as always, but the over-arching plot line is reeling me in! So little is known about the background of the main players, in particular Reese and Finch; the writers are wisely doling out their information very slowly.

In this episode we learn just a bit more about Reese, but only enough to wonder where the story line will go from here. Can't wait to see how the ending to this episode gets resolved!

Amazing Episode!

Warning: Spoilers
I watched this series when it was live TV but I did not remember this episode and how it played out. Amazing is all I can say because the show is willing to go where you don't expect it to go.

Strangers on a Train

Warning: Spoilers
The basic plot of this episode reminded me of Strangers on a Train as there was no commonality between the sisters and the other two people that found the money.

A 'Super'b episode
Fumilant9 August 2021
Ever since the last episode which was mind-blowing , this show has kept me hooked.

And 'Super' is a example for that .

The ep starts with the fallout of the previous ep with Reese confined to a wheelchair and Carter on the hot pursuit of Finch.

Positives A growing chemistry between Reese and Finch.

A touch of humour which had been absent in most previous episodes.

Carter getting to know the intentions of Finch.

A good acting by Trask .

How Fusco and Finch managed to throw CIA off-road by creating a wrong lead and buying some time was a good piece of work by the directors.

How Reese and Finch's roles were reversed and Reese doing the computer works and Finch being on the ground.

Negatives The CIA- I have neve seen such a moronic CIA squad ever .Missing the target when he was clearly wounded ,snooping on Carter in the worst way ever .

The fact that Machine gave Trask's number and not the BF's when he clearly was the one plotting.

Trask using a gun cause a normal person would have just tried to talk to him .

Rating 9/10.

The machine delivers four numbers to Finch apparently of people without any connection. Reese tracks down the first name, Professor Claire Ryan, and finds that she is dead. Further, she had just bought expensive things for her. Reese decides that the best way to protect the persons is Finch and Fusco be in charge to follow two of them. Finch locates the second name, Matt Dungan, but the man is murdered immediately after a buying a new motorcycle. Reese goes to the beauty shop of the third name, Wendy McNally, but the woman vanishes, and he loses her track. Soon he learns that Fusco has also lost the trail of Paula Vasquez, but he finds them together at Wendy's house and learns that they are stepsisters. The connection of the victims is a car accident, where the driver died, and the quartet found a wallet with one million dollars inside. Now a criminal is hunting them down to protect the laundry of dirty money for powerful people. Meanwhile, Carter is pressed by the CIA agent Snow, who wants to assassinate Reese, to know his whereabouts.

"Number Crunch" is certainly one of the best episodes of "Person of Interest". This time, the machine provides four names to Finch and Reese, and they have to find what entwins the persons. The segment of Carter and the CIA operatives is also engaging and full of action. She sells out Reese to the agents but redeems herself in the end of the show. Now Reese will have to recover to proceed his work. My vote is nine.
