Separatists and Slavers
A_Kind_Of_CineMagic30 September 2020
This begins a story covering a few episodes involving slavers enslaving the peaceful race from which Ahsoka is meant to come from (although how a feisty warrior like her is supposed to come from such a placid, pacifist society I don't know).

The horrible subject of slavery is one that science fiction/fantasy can explore well and this is a very interesting episode with some very strong aspects such as Anakin's hatred of slavers due to him and his mother having been slaves. This is powerfully shown as an issue scarring Anakin's soul.

There is some really fun action and this is an extremely solid episode.

My rating: 8.5/10.

How is it possible that there are not more reviews with this episode

This episode is just great in to many ways. I really wish this arc was the opening of the season, because it really sets the tone of the whole season. It has all of the main characters, which not usually happens in this series actually. This was along with "old friends not forgotten" and season 5 ep 2 the only time we saw the 4 together talking/fighting. The "biker droids" scene had great chemestry between the characters, even if they didn't talk. It showcases a bit of Anakin's darkside. It's the first time we see Ahsoka in the "little sister who wants to keep an eye on Anakin" role (seriusly, I love the scene where Anakin says "zyguerean scum", since it's the first time Ahsoka sees Anakin's dark side). Obi-Wan is an absolute troll, but at the same time he is not by any means a Gary Stue. There's even a little cameo of Boil and Kix! And all the action is just phenomenal. Biker droids, sniper droidekas, "I am not that young anymore", "shall we discuss your surrender... Again?"... And I could just get going.
