This was one episode where for a change, both stories were absolutely terrific and you could have easily devoted the entire show to one of them.
Harry's car is impounded in a small Ohio town while she is going on vacation. The reason? The town has an ordinance stating that you can't drive a foreign car there. Harry gives up her vacation to fight this. George Wendt, very, very heavy, guest stars as the lawyer with a very bright nephew, a new attorney who challenges Harry in court.
The second story is extremely heart rendering. A Chinese couple, who had their daughter snatched from them since they violated China's one-child law, comes to American when they find out that the child has been adopted by an upper class black family. A court battle ensues and I wouldn't want to be the judge for all the tea in China. Her decision will obviously make one side very sad, but she did it with great reasoning and dignity.
Harry shows that for a cause, she is willing to be her usual cantankerous self. Love this show.
