**** Too Good For A Double Header

Warning: Spoilers
This was one episode where for a change, both stories were absolutely terrific and you could have easily devoted the entire show to one of them.

Harry's car is impounded in a small Ohio town while she is going on vacation. The reason? The town has an ordinance stating that you can't drive a foreign car there. Harry gives up her vacation to fight this. George Wendt, very, very heavy, guest stars as the lawyer with a very bright nephew, a new attorney who challenges Harry in court.

The second story is extremely heart rendering. A Chinese couple, who had their daughter snatched from them since they violated China's one-child law, comes to American when they find out that the child has been adopted by an upper class black family. A court battle ensues and I wouldn't want to be the judge for all the tea in China. Her decision will obviously make one side very sad, but she did it with great reasoning and dignity.

Harry shows that for a cause, she is willing to be her usual cantankerous self. Love this show.

China adoption

As a mother of 2 beautiful daughter's from China I was shocked at the insensitivity of this episode. Do you do research? Do you understand that it is not a one child policy for "all" Chinese? (minorities are excluded)Or that is not even enforced in many areas? I do not agree with the policy or their government but do know that what they don't do is steal children for profit! Not to mention that the more affluent that can support more children are the least targeted to enforce the policy! MANY families have more than one child. The foster family that took care of our older daughter had two adult sons. There are already so many "uncertains" for these children and you insinuate that they could have been stolen??? Really? That is a pathetic story line. Do you understand that the orphanage pays to even register the child with CCAA to be eligible to find a family. The orphanage only takes a small donation from the parents. The other fees that went to the govt were minimal (much less than any US adoption) our biggest fees were our travel, US agency fee and all the fees to be approved by OUR govt! It is disturbing how a TV writer can put a plot put there as if it is factual! Do your homework! It effects peoples lives!
