This is the episode with the floating hat.....

Warning: Spoilers
.....which is why this is one of my favorite CSI MIAMI episodes. The floating hat phenomenon in the cabana is witnessed by Ryan Wolfe (Jonathan Togo) right after he spots a dead body inside said cabana at one of those upscale hotels so common in Miami. And the dead body is that of male escort Derek Vaughn (Brandon Beemer). Of course, Eric Delko (Adam Rodriguez) loses no time clowning on Wolfe. Their favorite boss man Horatio Caine has the usual gang of suspects: schoolteacher Emma Davis (Samantha Whittaker), shady delivery man Mitch Fielder (Cyrus Farmer), hotel manager Hector Romero (Spanish-born Jordi Molla), upscale married Gretchen Cambridge (Julia Campbell), and another gigolo named Joe Grafton (Eric Winter) who decides to hit on CSI honeybabe Natalia Boa Vista (Eva LaRue). Come to find out that leaking orderless propane gas may have killed off Derek Vaughn after his unknown assailant did a number on him. And because the gas is flammable, there's an explosion inside the cabana that almost kills off Eric Delko and fellow investigator Calleigh Duquesne (Emily Procter). Come to find out, it was Gretchen's husband Steven Cambridge (Brian McNamara) who did the dirty deed and assaulted Derek Vaughn. But he didn't kill Vaughn. That was the work of Hector Romero's daughter Luisa Romero (Martha Higareda) who was hanging out with Derek Vaughn, got jealous over him shagging all those high-society women, and killed him. And another CSI investigator named Walter Simmons (Omar Benson Miller) gets to clown on Wolfe. This was a well-done episode with the usual ensemble acting. It's a pity that the empty suits at CBS saw fit to cancel CSI MIAMI, so we'll never know whether Eric and Calleigh did get together, and even get married. Or whether Horatio ever did find a new love. Or whether Ryan Wolfe ever got his personal problems squared away. Or whether Sergeant Frank Tripp (Rex Linn) found a lady love who would have rocked his world. Well, it's moot. I wish CSI MIAMI could get a revival. When it was good, it was very, very good. Even though the show captured Miami in all its Technicolored glory, it was actually filmed in Los Angeles. And you can see it on Charge. Do that.
