Sex & Nudity

  • After having just been married, a couple is in a bedroom lying on the bed. She remarks that his clothes must come off. He lies on top of her kissing her as she begin to take off his tie and unbutton his shirt. The scene ends before any nudity or simulated sex occurs. In the next scene, it's morning and the husband lies naked, supine on the bed with bed sheets covering his lower half while shower sounds indicate his wife's presence.

Violence & Gore

  • The violence in the film is very intense, but only moderate. It isn't very bloody during these violent scenes, but the aftermath of them does feature a bit of blood.
  • A man is seen being tortured in a few scenes. We see him being beaten with a pole and repeatedly kicked in the chest (we hear the breaking of his bones), we see him being water boarded many times (a cloth is put over his mouth and a running hose is put over that.) which is very hard to watch, we see the man getting tied to a moving car and having to run after being beaten and we see the man getting punched numerous times. This movie would get a PG-13/12 rating if it wasn't for this scene.
  • One character is seen being pushed to the ground and hit with a mallet. It is implied that he is killed.
  • A character is seen getting pushed to the ground and beaten with a stick before this is interrupted.
  • A character is forced into a small cage.
  • A character goes to break another character's arm, but stops.
  • A knife is put to a character's neck and he is then dragged outside. He is not killed.
  • A character ties a rope to a bridge and then jumps off it - killing himself. We see the dead body swinging from the bridge.
  • Twice we see a man with bruises up and down his body as well as blood spilling from his face.

Profanity

  • Christ used as a swear word.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Some drinking, but somehow no smoking.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • All scenes in the Violence and Gore category are incredibly intense and hard to watch. Some may find these scenes to be upsetting, especially if they've been to war themselves. The fact that it's all a true story makes it even more upsetting and unsettling.
