A Presidential Citation was issued in August 2011 to Mrs. Alice Craig, the wife of the aircraft commander, Lt Doug Craig.
The site where 'Shady Lady' crash landed is now classified and protected as a site of 'Historical Interest.'
Ground and in-flight filming sequences of 'Shady Lady' were carried out with the support of The Collings Foundation (a non-profit educational foundation devoted to supporting living history events to encourage learning by participation), on-board their B-24J Liberator aircraft called 'Witchcraft'.
The Producer/Director was a former British Airways airline captain.
On 14 August 2011, 68 years to the day after 'Shady Lady' crash landed, Mrs. Craig and her daughter Ms. Martha Craig presented a plaque in Kalumburu to remember, acknowledge and to thank Wunambal Gaambera and Balanggarra Traditional Owner families and Kalumburu Mission for the grateful assistance, gallant efforts and unwavering support of their forebears to both the "Shady Lady" and Allied salvage crews and for their contribution to the success of the rescue operation.
