Sterling Archer spent an extra three years in boarding school due to an undisclosed learning disability. Malory threatened to have the school burned down if they didn't graduate him.
The name of Archer's lacrosse team, "Archers of Loafcrosse", is a reference to the '90s indie-rock band Archers of Loaf, while the other team's name, "Lax-mi Singhers" is a reference to NPR newscaster Lakshmi Singh.
Each and every one of the episodes has the sound of ice cubes clinking on glass.
When Lana asks Archer his blood type, he says how would he know. Lana is incredulous and asks, "How would you not?" Archer then says, "Who am I? Karl Landsteiner ... the discoverer of blood groups." Landsteiner won the Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine in 1930 for his 1901 discovery of the 4 different blood groups.
Archer says that a brain aneurysm scrambled Rip Riley's Broca's area, then explains that it is the language center of the brain. It is named for French surgeon Paul Broca who, in 1861, discovered that it served a vital role in the articulation of speech.
