a hungry little girl
Kirpianuscus28 July 2023
A little girl looking for some food in a dumpster . Her unsucces is compensated by the voice . A man, near her, sings an opera aria.

It is the beginning of colorful, tensioned, fantastic, dangerous adventure. With noble result.

Reminding Hansel and gretel, this lovely adventure , in which the tomatoes , past, the wine are main pieces of interests is just lovely for rhytm and inventivity and little kids as ingredients in Italian food and for the choice of little girl, authentic liberatrice, who, with a vegetables doll , later with the help of a fork, beats the terrible ogre .

Classic music, pasta al dente and an ogre. And the flavor of old fashion fairy tales. Nice gifts for the kids of all ages.

Macabre yet charming

What a charming little short!

A nice updated take on some classic fairy tale archetypes, featuring a child-eating ogre and a heroic orphan kid.

And like in many of those stories, the macabre elements from the plot are handled here in a rather whimsical manner, almost akin to a Tom and Jerry cartoon.

Even the little black comedy element at the end feels playful instead of dark; the song by the ogre deserves special mention, being clearly made for this animation, but totally sounds like a legitimate classical aria.

Al Dente is a pretty enjoyable short, and it honestly deserves a much higher score than just 6.0.
