A Rather Dubious Result
Hitchcoc21 April 2018
The story continues as Miles and Chandler and the gang continue their efforts to find a murderer who simply wants to see arrogant people suffer the loss of loved ones. Unlike other episodes, they seem to know the identity of the perpetrator early on. They need to catch him and figure out his motivations. He seems to have supernatural powers. Even when things are parsed out, the conclusion is sort of anticlimactic.

! Wrong Title for this Episode
tikitracy12 February 2012
Who ever created this entry under this title is wrong in that this is not story two of season three for Whitechapel. It clearly states on the BBC website that they will have three (3) two-hour (2-hr) stories for this season. Story one (1) involves the data contained in this write-up and the original entry for itself. In other words, they are duplex episodes. Story two (2) has yet to be broadcast, and the details aren't readily available to date.

That said, this second-part of story one is great and further develops the characters and storyline of both the Whitechapel police force and the utilization of multiple criminology techniques to help solve the crimes.

SLOPPY writing

Warning: Spoilers
Re: "Whitechapel"--Series 3--Episodes 1 & 2 - one (careless?) recaper writes: "Buchan's research leads to a man who was familiar with the murder sites and had a grievance against an arrogant female driver." .......... This is a total FABRICATION - by this #$%^%$K writer!!!!! There is NO SUCH dialogue - at least not in the version that aired on u.s. PBS in 2018/April!!!!!!! Buchan's research leads ONLY to a man named Richard Farley who slaughtered co-workers in California in 1988 - to punish a woman for ignoring him.' " SUDDENLY in the very next scene, the principles are focused on a TOTALLY not-heard from EVER before character, "Sly Griscoll!!!; NO previous mention of a building craftsman EITHER. An ENTIRE SCENE, DIALOGUE - was either omitted or forgotten or edited out in error; F^^ING SLOPPY!!!!!!!!! The show's writers dis-valued viewers intelligence - that they wouldn't notice this GIGANTIC piece of SLOPPY writing / plotting -- as long as there was huge lumps of "Dr. Who" sci-fi CRAP!! Form over substance!! GEEZUS E^^&!!
