Donald Trump‘s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, co-chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC), has recently unveiled a new song that has been met with scathing criticism – even from many of her own social media followers.
Last year, Lara showcased her musical aspirations with a widely mocked cover of Tom Petty‘s iconic hit, “I Won’t Back Down.” Her latest track, titled “Anything is Possible,” now faces similar derision from internet critics.
The song itself is intended as an inspirational ballad and features lyrics such as “Don’t think, just jump / You can’t give up / Know that anything is possible.”
Numerous X users among Lara’s have not held back in their scrutiny. “‘Anything’ isn’t possible,” quipped one user. “Even auto-tune couldn’t salvage your karaoke-like voice. Just leave us alone and walk away. You have the means to travel anywhere on a private plane with your wealth.

In 1991, when Debbie Gibson’s underrated third album, Anything Is Possible, stalled at #41 on the charts, the New York Times printed a full-page obituary for her relatively brief career titled “The Perils and Perishability of a Teen Idol.” In just a few short years, Gibson had gone from America’s sweetheart—anointed the youngest artist to write, produce, and perform a #1 hit—to being declared a pop casualty by the nation’s newspaper of record.
Only two years earlier, the Long Island teen had scored her biggest hit, “Lost in Your Eyes,” the lead single from her sophomore effort, Electric Youth. The album is arguably the weakest of Gibson’s four Atlantic releases, largely eschewing the sleek dance-pop and of-the-moment freestyle and hi-Nrg stylings of 1987’s Out of the Blue in favor of ostensibly more mature piano ballads and Motown-lite, which zapped her music of the exuberance that made her debut so charming.

“Just let me take you to a better place / I’m gonna make you kiss the sky tonight / Yeah, if you let me show the way / I’m so excited to see you excited,” Justin Timberlake sings.
Despite getting together over the years — teaming up for their 2018 Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, as well as reuniting to celebrate Timberlake’s Video Vanguard Award at the 2013 MTV VMAs — they haven’t released new music since their 2002 single “Girlfriend”, featuring Nelly.

Jeff Timmons, Justin Jeffre and brothers Nick and Drew Lachey joked about it when asked “how annoyed” they felt about their old rivals’ announcement of their first new song in 20 years.
“Stole the thunder,” Nick laughed, but Jeffre quickly added, “It’s a boy band universe.”
In fact, all four members of the band expressed their excitement at both boy bands being reunited.
“When one succeeds, we all succeed. Because we’re all kind of like us, Nsync, Backstreet Boys, we’re all clumped into the same, into the same kind of pile there.

In this week’s Insecure, Issa contemplated two very important career choices as lingering thoughts about Lawrence crept in.
Despite playing phone tag with her ex a few weeks ago, Issa kept her focus on her career and Nathan and both seem to be going quite well. Nathan has been leaving his belongings at her place, so much so that she joked “‘mi casa’ is starting to look like ‘we casa.’” Nathan casually floated the idea that they move in together, and Issa took it under consideration.

Selena Gomez shocked her fans when she showed up at the 2017 American Music Awards last week with chopped-off, bright blonde hair. The new hue—which she paired with a form-fitting, all-leather dress with zipper detailing from Coach—was labeled “Nirvana Blonde” by her hairstylists of seven years Riawna Capri and Nikki Lee of Nine Zero One Salon, whom she trusted with the drastic change.
Capri had shared the look on her Instagram post —“‘Killin’ em with Blondness’ #SelenaGomez rockin’ her new #NirvanaBlonde #90sChic. A very patient color change and cut”— and now we know just how patient the “Wolves” singer and her team were.

Thor: Ragnarok leaves behind some spoiler-y questions. We're answering them right here...
Like any Marvel movie, you’ll come out Thor: Ragnarok with a series of questions about what happened, what you saw, and sometimes what you didn’t see. As ever, we’ve attempted to answer them.
Spoilers abound, of course, for Thor: Ragnarok. And not for the Infinity War footage, which we haven’t seen because it hasn’t been officially released and therefore constitutes definite spoilers. Please be aware - if you’re the sort of person who hoovers up spoilers - that not everyone wants to know something unless it’s been officially released.
Why could the Hulk talk?
In the comics, the Hulk has always had a fairly reasonable vocabulary, so this movie brings the movie version some way towards that. But really, the reason he’s able to talk is because...

One movie that I'm extremely excited about seeing is Steven Spielberg's feature film adaptation of Ernie Cline's sci-fi geek novel Ready Player One. During a recent interview with Fandango, we learn from T.J. Miller that his character is new to the story. He wasn't in the book and was created just for the film. The synths are coming, the synths are coming!
On Humans Season 2 Episode 4, we see the beginnings of a secret synth initiative, or are synths being used by humans for their own agenda? Hmm. This should be interesting.
What started out as the simple sacking of Joe took a sinister turn. I didn't see that swerve coming, but thank goodness Joe had Mattie to sniff out the conspiracy.
How he made that leap wasn't really explained very well. I mean, why did he suspect something just from a standard buyout agreement?
Seems a tad convenient from a storytelling perspective, but it is what it is.
So, are synths Really making upper-level business decisions at his former company?
My guess is no. I think he was fired as punishment to Joe's family for Laura's involvement in the Niska deal.

Did you all enjoy the front row seat to Cyrus Beene's downfall?
On Scandal Season 6 Episode 3 we got even more confirmation that Cyrus is nothing more than a vile opportunist and it paved the way for the reveal that Tom was the one who murdered the Vargas.
The shocking thing about all of this was that Cyrus did not want Vargas dead. Previously, it seemed completely plausible that Cyrus had him killed to get all the power he ever wanted.
Much like Olivia, Cyrus is power hungry. Anything is possible with him. Turning to Tom to warn Jenny off was a typical Cyrus move. Continuing to cheat on Michael showed that Cyrus will never really change.

When last we tuned into The CW’s The Flash, Barry Allen (played by Grant Gustin) had seemingly sent steely Savitar packing — only to then tumble into a near-future where the “speed god” brutally slays Iris (Candice Patton).

A new report from The Hollywood Reporter claims "the reset button has been pressed" by Fox on the X-Men movie franchise. But what if instead of rebooting their film universe, they joined Marvel Studios instead? I think Doctor Strange might have just given them their best opportunity. THR's report says in part: [X-Men:] Apocalypse, directed by Bryan Singer, earned $544 million worldwide, a sharp drop from the $748 million made by previous entry X-Men: Days of Future Past. What's more, stars Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Nicholas Hoult have come to the end of their three-picture contracts. If new studio chairman Stacey Snider wants them to return, they won't come cheap. "You're gauged by the success of the franchise," says box-office analyst Paul Degarabedian. "This one didn't engender the love of previous movies. It's time to go back to the drawing board." They mention producer Simon Kinberg is working on a...

Will Kara's secret come out?
That was addressed on Supergirl Season 2 Episode 4 when Kara needed help in the aftermath of the chaos Roulette caused.
TV Fanatics Christine Hinton, Steve Ford, Yana Grebenyuk and Jim Garner chat Roulette's debut, Alex's feelings and J'onn's new storyline.
What did you think of Roulette?
Christine: The most interesting thing about her was that her connections got her cut loose before she was even taken into custody. I’m guessing we’ll be seeing more of her this season, but I wonder if it will be for another fight club, or something equally as nefarious.
Steve: She was far too hammy for me to take her as a serious villain, however I agree with Christine on it being interesting on how quickly her connections got her off the hook. It definitely won't be the last we see of Roullette, but I wish it was.

As you know, each Marvel film that is made leads into one of their future films. There's always a little cliffhanger that they leave fans with that always ties into a much bigger story for another movie. In this current phase of the McU, everything is leading up to Avengers: Infinity War.
It turns out that Thor: Ragnarok could play a huge role in setting up the events of Avengers: Infinity War. Earlier this year, a rumor broke that Cate Blanchett's character Hela "could replace the physical embodiment of Death that Mad Titan Thanos falls in love with when he obtains the Infinity Gauntlet in the comic books." Death is the character who causes the Mad Titan to go on a killing spree and destroy half of the universe in the comics.
It seems like it would be a smart movie and it kinda makes sense that that's how things would play out.

By now you've probably heard that Thor: Ragnarok is going to be the most ambitious film about the God of Thunder yet. It's been clear from the outset that Marvel is putting a lot of resources into the sequel- much more than it did for Thor and Thor: The Dark World. Those last two films were flicks you could've probably skipped and still not missed a beat while watching either Avengers movies. But, just as an old scoop of ours claimed, it's starting to look more and more like someone we meet in Thor: Ragnarok is going to be an absolutely huge part of Avengers: Infinity War.
In our original story, we revealed the possibility that Cate Blanchett's Hela was going to stand in for Death in the cinematic version of the Infinity Gauntlet storyline. In that story, one of the main motivations...

In The Infinity Gauntlet comic book which has inspired Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos wipes out half the universe with the Infinity Stones in order to impress Death. Desperate to win her love, the Mad Titan tries again and again to woo her with his mastery over the powerful weapon before he’s ultimately taken down by The Avengers and Adam Warlock.
Whether or not the movie will follow a similar story arc remains to be seen, but it would be very surprising if Death doesn’t play some sort of role in proceedings. However, with Hela, the Asgardian goddess of death, set to be introduced in Thor: Ragnarok next year, is it possible that she’ll take on that role instead? Sure, she’s a different character, but it would make sense.

“Sausage Party” may be a film about a hotdog that wants to have sex with a bun, but it still represents a watershed moment for Hollywood. The raunchy comedy that’s grossed $65 million after two weeks in theaters is the first R-rated CG animated movie. Co-written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, “Sausage Party” has sex, violence and curse words in a format that has always been reserved for family-friendly fare.

The movie features the voices of comedic stars like Rogen, Jonah Hill, Kristen Wiig, James Franco and Paul Rudd playing anthropomorphized food items who discover their only reason for existing is to be eaten by humans. Directors Conrad Vernon (“Monsters vs. Aliens”) and Greg Tiernan (TV’s “Thomas & Friends”) have backgrounds in traditional animation aimed at children, but there’s nothing traditional about this deranged dark comedy.

Ever since it was confirmed that Supergirl was moving from CBS to The CW, fan theories as to how the show will be integrated into the already established DC TV universe have reached critical mass. The most common, in addition to being one of the most plausible, is that The Flash’s “Flashpoint” story arc will provide some continuity cleanup, effectively bringing the Girl of Steel and her supporting cast into the fold.
Personally, I felt that December’s four-way crossover between Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow would be where everything would go down because “Flashpoint” would seemingly affect only one universe. But, then again, the comic book story for which it is named not only saw a rewriting of the DC Universe proper’s timeline, but also integrated characters and concepts from Vertigo and Wildstorm’s respective universes. Anything is possible when we’re talking science fiction.

There's been several months of fan campaigning to save Marvel's Agent Carter after ABC decided to cancel it after two seasons. Now Netflix, the main hope for its continuation, has officially given word on its future. The news comes from Entertainment Weekly out of the Television Critics Association (TCA) Netflix presentation today where chief content officer Ted Sarandos gave the verdict - they will not be picking up Agent Carter. I was holding out hope for Peggy's return for sure but deep down I think I knew it wasn't going to happen. The reason is all business of course. “We’re looking for truly original brands to own,” Sarandos said, “and in that Marvel space we already have [original comic book shows] – so that was mostly why.” While it's true, Netflix already has Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders set as series, most thought that meant it was only natural...

The Headless Horseman is riding into New Orleans!
Well, not really.
But Neil Jackson, who played him on Fox's Sleepy Hollow, will be joining The Originals Season 4 as a vampire named Alistair. He'll air on a recurring basis.
Since the season is a way off, not much is known about Alistair.
What we do know is he'll interact with another vamp we know and love, Klaus. Good enough for us!
There was a lot of other news to come out of San Diego Comic Con this weekend, as well.
The Originals will finally be joining up to (and surpassing) The Vampire Diaries in the timeline.
When the series returns, it will come with a five year time jump into the future.
At that time, we'll see Hayley and her grown daughter, Hope, fighting to save and unite the family.
We also know what she needs in order to do that.

BoJack Horseman, one of the very best shows on television, returned for a wonderful — and, somehow, darker than ever — third season on Friday, and Netflix ordered a fourth season later that day. I'll have an episode-by-episode breakdown later this week, but I'm first pleased to bring you this long conversation with BoJack creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg. (Note: We did this a week and a half ago, prior to the renewal announcement, so his last answer refers to the show's fate being up in the air, even as he talks about plans for what he wants to do next with it.) Originally, I had intended to only ask questions about the season's remarkable fourth installment — one of the best episodes of TV I've seen all year — a largely dialogue-free installment set underwater, where BoJack's attempt to promote Secretariat at a film festival on the ocean floor goes awry. But then I realized...
