Not sure what he was thinking
brandonlewissmu27 May 2022
The plot is bizarre on so many levels. The person/ghost whom the movie is centered upon would not go about scaring the crap out of him (and the 2 other characters). However, by choosing that person, the scares are going to have to come from that person. He pigeonholed himself.

I'm a fan of the series. This felt like a Goodbye. I can totally appreciate him wanting to end the movie (and possibly the series) on a happy note. This just wasn't the way. If he did intend of this being the end, I hope he will reconsider. He's brought us a very cool franchise. I have no doubt that he can end it on a high note, if he is indeed calling it quits.

Went off track
elliotjeory7 June 2022
It's not actually about the Blackwell ghost so the title is misleading. Was looking forward to this but it was disappointing. It's not bad, it's a good documentary in its own way however it should not be associated with the Blackwell series.

does not scare
killercharm26 December 2022
This is the first Blackwell Ghost that does not scare me. Though the sweet story it does tell is fatherly and loving it's not enough of a story to hold my interest without the scary element; after all, that what we're here for, the scary element. In this the sixth installment wherein Turner Clay tries to garner proof of ghosts, of afterlife, we are treated to a story about his young wife's death. Her passing leaves him a widower raising his two infants. He's obviously a doting dad but the babies are usually in daycare or with his mother. That way he can chase ghosts without exposing the children to possible peril. He finds a package on his doorstep left by a mysterious stranger in the middle of the night. In this box is his dead wife's old keyboard. Lo and behold it plays spontaneously. Or is it spontaneous? It can't be, not in the Blackwell world. It's got to be his sweet wife's attempt to communicate with her beloved family.

Do You Want The Truth?
zeuthuk19 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This is a spoiler review which I felt compelled to write after watching film 6.

Given the strength of supernatural evidence in the first two films you have to question its validity. In films 3 - 5 the supernatural events increase and lose their affect in the process.

In film 6 many supernatural things happen which are believed to have been caused by his dead wife. However, it felt like these awful things were caused by a poltergeist and not a loved one. This didn't add up.

The other issue I had was in previous episodes were he appeared to have little sleep or spent at least one night in his car. Personally he did not look like someone who had spent the night in a car, his face and eyes both looked fresh. He also didn't get much sleep in some of the other films but still didnt look sleep deprived.

The series is based around two serial killers and their stories are told in films 1 and 3.

Both serial killers do not exist. They are not on any public record.

There is also no real record of his wife who died in film 6.

Many people searched for these characters and couldn't find anything. Without the serial killers we have no ghosts etc. So the film series does not confirm the existence of ghosts or spirits as it was meant to.

The film series has a documentary feel to it but its really a fictional series of supernatural films.

So do ghosts and spirits exist?

I think many people watched this series in the hope of answering this question. Given the failures of these films I thought id answer the question based on my own experience.

My best friend lived in a house with a ghost that he and his family had seen many times standing at the top of their stairs. Sometimes they would find doors open upstairs which they claimed to have been caused by the ghost.

A work colleague I knew well moved into a house were a child had been murdered. They experienced numerous awful things. When taking a bath both he and his girlfriend had felt a pressure on their chest, like something trying to push them under the water. Coins spinning on the table by themselves, lights on, knives on the floor, moving shadows across the room, something touching their arm and neck, all within a month of moving in.

Moving back to the series I felt the supernatural activities were related more to a poltergeist. I was surprised that no form of spiritual cleansing had been conducted at either property from film 1 and 3. Again this was another thing that had me question the validity of the films.

Hope this review helps in some way.

Disappointing after long wait
nu-metal-770-83958923 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
After a long wait for this with little update and news for it to suddenly drop on Amazon I was so excited to finally see it and I was left confused and dissatisfied overall the film is a complete separation from the other 5 other than clay himself and small reference to his past ghost hunting.

After a cliff hanger from 5 I won't spoil it there is no contingency from that and is ignored and the story we have followed for 5 films is not in this at all we find out nothing we been waiting for and instead treated to a sad ghost film about a family Home haunted by a lost love one.

Even more worrying is the fact this is the only film not to say to be continued at the end and feel if this is the last one what happened with the story we had been following for the whole time?

I love these films and think they get better with each one until now as a separate film it's a good film but when you have invested the time to watch the others this feels like a huge let down/strange way to go.

He's hoping for number 7 to pick up where we left off in 5?

Great addition to the series
brady-black21 May 2022
I would not recommend just jumping in with #6, its possible but the background with the others will help. What's enjoyable is this movie has little to do with the original Blackwell Ghost but the growth of the main character over time. An enjoyable, spooky and heartfelt 6th movie.

Done in bad taste
balscalatoosa23 May 2022
I don't want to give anything away but I'll say this - I was stunned during the whole runtime of this movie that not only did the filmmaker decided to put his own youngins in it, but that they way he decided to make one character not in the movies anymore (and more importantly the "reason") is in such poor taste. If its true it's awful and if it's not true its awful in a plethora of ways. Nothing made sense or was scary or tense. I won't be watching anymore of this....if they decide to even make another one after this mess.

Did Not See That Coming
OldSchool_Cinephile28 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Have loved the series since the beginning. 2 was a little slow. The Lightfoot murders built across 3, 4, and 5 but in 6, mind blown. I did not expect the ghost in the Lightfoot house to be his wife the entire time! Before she was dead! The sobbing on the phone, the sobbing on the baby monitor, the reflection in the glass, the picture in the window, all told to be the same spirit at the end of 6.

It has been exciting watching Turner Clay grow as a human being throughout his story. His method acting is on par. The fear, doubt, sadness, the character expresses are all believable. He comes across as pretty oblivious and clueless in the beginning but grows into a wise and understanding man throughout the series. 1 was good, but 3 through 6 are a different beast entirely.

I don't care if he's an amateur writer and director. I don't care if it is fake. It's a found footage fake documentary. So what? Hate to tell you but so is ghost adventures.

What is important is he knows how to build true gothic horror. Not gore, not blood, not screams or jump scares. Gothic in the true sense: remote, claustrophobic, building a sense of dread that you cannot escape, murders, mysteries, curses, and then a twist. That, paired with his excellent -whether intended or not- method acting proved better than anything big budget Hollywood has produced in decades. Hands down. Bravo. Now please put them all on a blu-ray so i can buy them?

Confused as to whether some of this is real or not-LOTS OF SPOILERS!
dzoppoli-5800127 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
You're probably expecting a review of the latest movie from Turner Clay, the Blackwell Ghost 6. Well, this is not going to be that. Well, not really. Not in the traditional sense. I have loved all 5 of the previous Blackwell Ghosts! Mr. Clay is such a great filmmaker that I often wondered if any part of these films was real or not. I also did lots of research on Mr. Clay and Miss Czapleski (who played his wife in most the films). I found very little to nothing about either of them. No social media, no mention of their significant others or if they were, in fact, married to each other in real life. This seemed odd to me. When I found out that his wife in this movie has died from cancer in the first 5 minutes of the movie, I was devastated because I loved Miss Czapleski as an actress (although she hasn't done many movies). So, I researched if she was actually deceased in real life. I found a bunch of websites that seem "fake" to me talking about her death in real life. This makes me mad because Mr. Clay will not speak about this in any press. In fact, he does no press whatsoever. I would appreciate an answer to this, from either Mr. Clay or any fan that knows the absolute truth about this. As far as the movie goes, I agree with some of the reviewers. I was saddened so much by the death. Amazon gave me the movie for 48 hours, but after the movie, I was so sad and depressed that I couldn't bear to watch it again.

Says he's not going to share a woman's name

I Says he's not going to share a woman's name. Immediately shares woman's name.

I love the videos. They're a clear example of what you can do with neither budget nor talent.

I Love This Series
kevinconmy23 May 2022
Since watching #5 in October, 2020, my family and I have been looking forward to the sixth THE BLACKWELL GHOST movie; a micro-budget series about a documentarian out to prove that ghosts exist. At least, that's how it started, but writer/director/star Turner Clay is likable enough and creative enough to evolve the story to keep his audience engaged. The first movie was released in 2017. Each movie in the series is good and expands the story a little more, but I was not expecting just how good #6 turned out to be. If the series ends here, it would be a great run, and a great ending, but my family and I sure am hoping for part 7!

Departure from franchise in many ways
floydianever4 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I've been a loyal fan of this franchise since part 1 and I tolerated when he deviated from part 2 into the FL house and though the "evidence" into the mystery of the missing muffies was redundant of a ID CHANNEL show and this film appears to be a complete rehash of other films circling around widowers and noisy electronics after midnight (Michael Keaton anybody?) Also seems bizarre wife's past participation in previous films was limited at best to have her shoved into the spotlight for a final bow now seems desperate and using the children in the film reeks of exploitation mainly because it depends heavily on them. The film felt like a big karmic goodbye.

Excellent
tysoncj26 May 2022
I've seen all of the subsequent movies and this is by far the best. I still have no idea what is real or pure fiction, but that is part of the fun. I went in to this with the expectation of getting a slight scare or two, but it honestly had me more emotional than scared.

Flat out a good film! (Real or Fake)

What is happening rn
daniellenicoleeagan26 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
What. Nothing made sense. Almost no connection to the last movie, which was left off as a cliffhanger. What did her time of death have to do with the phone calls? Why would she haunt the house in FL when she resented that her husband went there in the first place? What were the ghosts warning him about? She had cancer, was he trying to elude that the ghosts, who had never had any contact with her, knew she had a rare incurable cancer? What would them warning him do any good?! WHAT IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW?!?! Why was it completely glazed over that a ghost had a rave in his house? I am so confused right now.

Wow...Horror Buff and LOVED This Series!!
FreyjaGodsdottir22 July 2022
Other horror films I like lots, for context: Hereditary; It Follows; Halloween; Us; The Host; Ringu (Japanese Ring); Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum; The Haunting of Hill House; Turn of the Screw; Cabin in the Woods

Tl; dr: Really fun viewing, and worth watching all the (short) films. Would be good on Halloween! Definitely watch in order for maximum enjoyment.

Color me shocked. I went into this film series with very low expectations. In fact, I started halfway through the series because someone said that would be fine. Honestly? I was a bit confused and figured I would just start back at the beginning. I'm now convinced you SHOULD watch all the way through; the character grows on you. That matters.

Started out by hardly paying attention and mostly watching my phone, until I realized I was riveted, watching the TV more than my phone. (My teenage son had the same experience when I watched it with him the second time through.)

By number 6, I was hooked to the screen. I even downloaded 4-6 to watch on a flight to Florida - and barely realized I'd flown! I won't provide spoilers but will say that the last one has an amazing ending that I loved. My teenage son agreed - and he's a horror snob (A24 films only!!) - so that's saying a lot.

Definitely watch this. Turner Clay is an amazing human and tells a really good story with the series. Start at film #1, and you'll hopefully be as hooked as I was by the time you get here! Definitely worth the build to the end.
