Guess Who Is Knocking the Door?
claudio_carvalho13 April 2017
Ben and Vivien have a meeting with the real estate agent Marcy to sell the house and she proposes the couple to hire an interior design to improve the house and they agree to hire the gay professionals Chad and Patrick, who were killed in 2010. Constance has a discussion with Addy since she is flirting with Constance's lover Travis. Ben stumbles upon Larry that blackmails him for killing and burying Hayden under the gazebo asking for one-thousand dollars and he hits the guy. While carving pumpkins, Chad suggests the removal of the gazebo to Ben and tells Vivien to check the phone bills to find the numbers received by Ben's phone. Violet meets Tate, who convinced Ben to be his patient, in the basement and they have a date. Vivien has an argument with Ben since she found Hayden's number in his bill. Addy tries to join a group of teenage girls in the Halloween and is hit by a car. Vivien fires the gays and they have an argument; Vivien does not feel well and she goes with Ben to the hospital. Meanwhile Larry knocks at the door requesting money and Violet contacts her parents. They return home and when Ben opens the door, he has a surprise.

"Halloween Part 1" is the sequel of the saga of Ben, Vivien and Violet in the murder house and their ghosts. There are intriguing sub-plots such as the encounter of Moira and her mother with the revelation that she cannot go with her mother or the romance of Violet with the mysterious Tate. The conclusion of the episode is scary. My vote is seven.

Halloween slash 1 interesting.
mm-3919 March 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Halloween slash 1 is interesting. The viewer experience another rubber suit murder and a gay couple is trapped in the house. The owners tries to sell the house, and the dead and undead keep coming back. The evil karma of the cursed house is a recurring story. The undead our out on Halloween and more parts of the house mystery are revealed. The sick characters and the rubber suit guy create many disturbing images. The direct creates enough, emotional, personal, physical trauma to create fear, animosity, and hatred for the viewer. The viewers swim in the animosity Halloween part 1 creates. A surprise ending. I give part 1 a seven out of ten.

Viv meets Chad and Patrick, they help the Harmon's with Halloween. Violet helps Addie to look pretty. Chad and Patrick left Murder House. Viv has pain in her belly, she goes to the hospital with Ben. Addie got hit by a car, she died instantly. Moira turned of Molly's machine at the hospital, she died instantly. Violet is gone when Ben and Viv come home. Hayden her ghost stands eye in eye with Ben. Solid episode of American Horror Story Season 1, boring episode of i compare it with previous episodes. I hope the next one will be better.

One of the best episodes of the series
MomentIMDB20 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The episode is incredible, a spectacular Halloween special.

I love that they continue giving background to the previous owners of the house. Zachary is incredible and his acting incredible. who will be the latex man?

I like that they live continue taking the initiative to move, leaving aside the click to stay in the house because yes.

the relationship between adelaide and constancee enchants. Jessica Lange is amazing and acts excellent. Adelein is very tender and she is a pretty woman.

Why does the burned man need 1000 dollars?

Evan Peter is beautiful and his performance is impeccable, when he cries it makes me feel bad.

Again Vivien and Ben are tormented by fanstasmas, in this case the gay couple who lived there.

Tate appears in the latex suit, so I guess it's him. I loved that Tate delved deeper into the past of the first owners. Lily Rabe as always excellent and the best, her character is interesting. The whole scene of the call and the disappearance of the baby gave me chills. then the police and bring the baby in jars, who is so crazy?

Charles is dark, he wants his baby Frankestein.

Vivien and Ben argue again. Chad told Vivien that he receives Ben's cell phone bill and discovered Hayden's calls and after discussing Hayden calls Ben, what?

why did the doctor faint? What do you have in your belly?

The best scene of the episode was undoubtedly the death of Adeleide, one of the saddest in the series. in the episode they made us fond of her and now they kill her, how cruel. It killed me to see constance trying to take adeleide to the murder house and couldn't. Jessica lange's tears broke my heart.

The cliffhanger is great, Hayden is alive!

Halloween tale is scary but confusing and terribly overacted...
Doylenf28 October 2011
I just came across this on TV called American Gothic, Part I, dealing with the Halloween story within and starring Dylan McDermott and Jessica Lange.

All I can say is Jessica must think she's playing to the balcony in a theater version of A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE, because she gives the kind of performance here as a mother from hell that can only be called appalling.

More toned down is Dylan McDermott as the psychiatrist dad, head of a household full of creeps, some dead, some alive. There's even a hint of a sexual encounter with a male ghost that he bluntly rebuffs. Is this supposed to be a hint of his hidden sexual agenda? None of it really makes much sense so there's no use in describing the so-called plot. Suffice it to say that it's strictly a cartoon-like version of a horror tale that has to be taken as a joke, not seriously. But even then, it fails to achieve whatever goals it had.

Strictly for adults who can get their kicks from non-too-subtle Halloween pranks involving spirits that walk among the living or devotees of the Addams Family situations.

S1.E4 - Intense Episode [8.6/10]

Warning: Spoilers
(S1. E4) My Live Reaction / Review for American Horror Story Season 1 Episode 4 ''Halloween: Part 1''. The previous episode was good and I gave it a rating of 8.6/10. Who is this man with the latex suit? Im really curious. Larry is blackmailing Ben to get money? Addy is adorable, so innocent. Violet kissed Tate, she kissed a ghost? Now that's weird. If they can talk, touch, kiss a ghost then what kind of ghost is that? It's like these ghosts are 100% human and alive, it's weird. A car hit Addy? That sucks, I hope she is fine. And the episode ends with the ghost of Ben's ex girlfriend appearing, interesting. Overall this episode was good, my rating is 8.6/10.

Self-Hate?
DavidsGuy20 July 2022
Considering Ryan Murphy is gay, why does he continue to portray all gay men as one big stereotype? According to him, we're all effeminate and swishy and we love decorating, cooking, and crafting. Above all else, we're continually promiscuous. (I only feel promiscuous when I see a group of nude, hairy men doing jumping jacks and sad to say, even that rarely happens.) We're just as varied and different in our tastes and likes and dislikes as any other group. Sounds like Murphy might have a problem with self-hate. Otherwise, I love this series mainly for Jessica Lange and for Dylan McDermott's not-nearly-enough nude scenes.
